OVERVIEW
This utility-built 1989 Toyota Land Cruiser FJ62 60-Series is a Japanese-market right-hand drive fire truck that was imported to the United States under recent ownership and has driven 6,195 miles since new. It is powered by a 3F 4.0-liter inline-six mated to an H55F five-speed manual transmission with a two-speed transfer case. Features include a removable canvas top, fire extinguishing equipment, auxiliary lighting, diamond plate bumper treatment, and period-correct Toyo tires on color-matched wheels. Finished in Morita Red over a two-tone brown vinyl interior, this FJ62 Land Cruiser is now offered with service records and a clear Arizona title in the seller’s name.
EXTERIOR – FEATURES
This Land Cruiser FJ62 60-Series four-door fire truck was initially registered in the Japanese market and subsequently imported to the United States under current ownership. The Morita Red body features quad headlights, diamond-plate trim for the front and rear bumpers, front fender-mounted mirrors, white accent striping, and roof ladder mounts. The rear cargo area uses a traditional bolt-on frame that offers a utility box with fire equipment and a removable black canvas top. The seller notes that there is light surface rust present on some of the handles and equipment, but the overall condition is consistent with a low-mileage vehicle of this vintage.
EXTERIOR – WHEELS AND TIRES
Steel 16-inch wheels are color-matched in Morita Red and wrapped in older 1990-era Toyo 14-ply snow tires.
INTERIOR – FEATURES
The right-hand drive interior is fitted with two-tone perforated brown vinyl bucket seats up front, a plastic-covered bench in the rear, and matching door panels and flooring. Features include cruise control, a heater, dual batteries, a radio, seat belts, and Land Cruiser-branded rubber floor mats. The utility space out back includes dual inward-facing benches, storage, provisions for fire extinguishing, Japanese instructional placards, and auxiliary lighting.
INTERIOR – GAUGES
Instrumentation includes a 180 km/h speedometer, a 5K-rpm tachometer, and auxiliary gauges. The six-digit mechanical odometer reads 9,971 kilometers (6,195 miles) which the seller asserts is an accurate reading.
ENGINE AND TRANSMISSION
The carbureted 3F 4.0-liter inline-six received a refresh of the fluids, oils, and filters after importation, per the seller. The hose clamps were replaced and the spark plugs were upgraded to platinum units. Power is transferred to all four wheels via a floor-shifted H55F five-speed manual transmission and a two-speed transfer case.
UNDERCARRIAGE
A spare tire is mounted underneath the body.
ADDITIONAL DETAILS
The sale includes recent service records. The seller has provided a walkaround video showing the exterior, cargo area, engine bay, a cold start, and a driving sequence.
