OVERVIEW
This 1969 Chevrolet Camaro Z/28 hardtop is documented as retaining its numbers-matching Turbo-Fire 302ci V8, which is coupled with a Muncie M21 four-speed manual transmission and a 12-bolt Positraction rear end. Equipment includes a ZL2 ducted hood, a center console, a rear spoiler, and a dual exhaust system. Finished in Daytona Yellow with a black vinyl top over a yellow vinyl and houndstooth cloth interior, this first-generation Camaro is now offered with owner’s booklets, an appraisal and a certificate of authenticity from Jerry MacNeish of Camaro Hi-Performance LLC, a National Corvette Restorers Society Shipping Data Report, service and shop manuals, and a clear Delaware title in the seller’s name.
EXTERIOR – FEATURES
The Daytona Yellow exterior finish is consistent with the car’s original build configuration when it was made in Norwood, Ohio. Features include black accent striping, a ZL2 ducted hood, a chin spoiler, front fender accents, a black vinyl roof, dual side mirrors, a chrome rear bumper with guards, a full-width spoiler, and dual exhaust outlets.
EXTERIOR – WHEELS AND TIRES
Rally 15-inch wheels with polished trim rings are wrapped in 215/60 front and 235/60 rear BFGoodrich Radial T/A raised-white-letter tires.
INTERIOR – FEATURES
The deluxe interior (option Z87) is furnished with yellow vinyl and houndstooth cloth high-back bucket seats up front, a bench in the rear, and yellow door panels. Amenities include a center console, simulated woodgrain trim, a push-button AM/FM radio, tinted glass, and a tilt steering column. The vinyl-lined trunk contains a spare tire.
INTERIOR – GAUGES
Instrumentation includes a 120-mph speedometer, an 8K-rpm tachometer, a clock, and additional gauges mounted at the top of the center console for the voltage, coolant temperature, fuel level, and oil pressure. The five-digit mechanical odometer reads 1,293 miles, which the seller believes to reflect 101,293 actual miles.
ENGINE AND TRANSMISSION
The Turbo-Fire 302ci V8 was verified as numbers-matching in November 2022 by Jerry MacNeish of Camaro Hi-Performance LLC and the International Automotive Appraisers Association (IAAA). The documentation states that exhaust headers have been added, along with a replacement water pump, fuel pump, spark plug wires, and various other components. An oil change was carried out in November 2022. Power is fed to the rear wheels via a four-speed manual transmission and a12-bolt Positraction rear end with 3.73 gears.
UNDERCARRIAGE
Steering is power-assisted. Braking is handled by power-assisted front discs and rear drums.
