Vehicle Story

This 1963 Plymouth Savoy Super Stock Tribute is finished in white over a red interior and is powered by a 505ci V8 paired with a 6-speed manual transmission.  The car received a rotisserie restoration under prior ownership, which included a full professional repaint and installation of the new engine.  It was sold new and resided in California before being relocated to the northeast when the seller acquired it in January 2018.  Equipment includes performance headers, modified suspension, and a fully reupholstered interior.  Located in Garrison, New York, this Savoy is now offered on a clean New York registration in the seller’s name.

The car is finished in white and was repainted as part of restoration under the previous owner’s ownership.  The exterior has new-condition chrome bumpers, quad headlamps, and a functional hood scoop was added.  All stainless trim was replaced, including the window trim, headlight bezels, and taillight bezels.

Aftermarket 15” American Racing Torque Thrust wheels are finished in dark gray with polished lip and mounted to new BF Goodrich Radial T/A tires on all four corners.  The car’s suspension was fully rebuilt and consists of Hotchkis Superstock springs and hardware, along with added Torsion bars. A heavy-duty front disc brake conversion kit was added as well, while the rear features new 11”x3” drums.

The interior was replaced during the restoration and features bench seats upholstered in red vinyl with matching door panels, carpets, and dash. The polished Hurst shifter is capped with a white shift knob and mounted on the transmission tunnel. A new headliner was also installed, along with new hardware for the door handles and window cranks.

Instrumentation includes a 120-mph speedometer and gauges for fuel level, coolant temperature, and voltage mounted in a custom-made panel in the middle of the dash.  The five-digit odometer reads 42k miles, of which the seller has added about 300 over two years of ownership.  True mileage is unknown.

The 505ci V8 started as a 440ci big-block that was professionally stroked and built by Kenyon Machine in San Diego and features a factory-correct cross-ram intake with Mancini dual carburetors and linkage as well as an Eagle stroker crank kit and JE pistons.  Equipped with 915 casting heads from 1967, it utilizes a mechanical roller setup from Comp Cams, giving it a 10.1 compression ratio capable of running on pump gas.  The car also has performance Doug Thorley 2” coated headers and a custom 3” exhaust welded with cutouts.  All fluids were recently changed in October 2020 while the fuel system itself is new, and the wiring harnesses have been replaced.  Power is sent to the rear wheels through a 6-speed Richmond manual transmission with a Centerforce clutch, scatter shield, and Hurst shifter.  The rear end is a Strange Engineering Dana 60 with 4:10 gears.

Additional underside photos are available in the gallery.

The sale includes documentation and reciepts from the restoration.
