OVERVIEW

This 1970 Chevrolet Chevelle is powered by a 454ci big-block V8 backed by a four-speed manual transmission. Features include power steering, power front disc brakes, Vintage Air climate control, Positraction, a tilt steering column, bucket seats, and a center console. Finished in Cranberry Red with black stripes over a black vinyl interior, this Chevelle is available now and comes from the selling dealer with a clear Tennessee title.

EXTERIOR - FEATURES

The Cranberry Red exterior features chrome bumpers, a black grille with an SS emblem, black SS stripes, a functional cowl-induction hood, hood pins, a driver-side mirror, wheel opening moldings, and a rear bumper pad with an SS logo. A full walk-around video can be seen below.

EXTERIOR - WHEELS AND TIRES

A set of black and silver steel SS wheels with SS center caps is wrapped in BFGoodrich Radial T/A tires.

INTERIOR - FEATURES

The front bucket seats, rear seat, trim, and door panels are upholstered in black vinyl. Features include power steering, power brakes, a center console with a Hurst manual shifter, manual windows, SS emblems, a Vintage Air climate control system with air conditioning, an AM radio, and a tilt steering column.

INTERIOR - GAUGES

A 120-mph speedometer, a 7K-rpm tachometer, and a fuel level gauge are mounted ahead of the driver. An aftermarket temperature gauge is located under the dashboard. The odometer reads 63,882 miles, but the true mileage on this vehicle is unknown.

ENGINE AND TRANSMISSION

Power is provided by a 454ci big-block V8 upgrade backed by a four-speed manual transmission. The engine bay features chrome valve covers, an open-element air cleaner with a cowl induction hood seal, and a windshield washer.

If its a 4 bolt solid lifter motor much more valuable. Difference of 75 HP and motor RPM red line goes up. Either way very nice car! Looks very well restored.

Does not appear to be a solid lifter motor, haven't put her on the dyno either. Not sure about the gear ratio or if its an M20 or M21.

@Tunaman – Would the Vin number let you know if it is a true SS? ...

I don't believe so. I know you could from 1966 through 1968, but that went away in 1969 (and 1970).

@Ellingson – I’m not sure I understand your question. The only way I’m aware of to prove a true SS for a 1970 is original paperwork, such as an original build sheet or window sticker. The build sheet and window sticker for this one was lost many years ago. That being said it’s a beautiful car with great options! ...

Would the Vin number let you know if it is a true SS?
