1957 Chevrolet 3100

OVERVIEW

This 1957 Chevrolet 3100 pickup was restored in 2021 and has been upgraded with an Edelbrock carburetor, a Painless Performance Products wiring harness, newer fuel system hardware, and Dakota Digital instrumentation. Power comes from a rebuilt 350ci V8 mated to a rebuilt 700R4 four-speed automatic transmission. Finished in satin black over a black vinyl interior, this 3100 is now offered with build records and a Conditional Georgia title in the seller’s name.

EXTERIOR – FEATURES

During the 2021 restoration, the front fenders, doors, cab corners, and rockers were replaced. In addition, all rust was repaired before fresh satin black paint was applied. The exterior accents including the bumpers, grille, and headlight bezels were dressed in contrasting white. Features include a newer windshield, dual side mirrors, a driver side-mounted spare tire with a cover, dual side-exit exhaust outlets, and an embossed tailgate. The bed is lined with wood planks and stainless steel hardware. The seller notes that the doors need some final adjustment before the truck is ready for a final paint job.

EXTERIOR – WHEELS AND TIRES

A five-lug conversion kit has been installed. The steel 15-inch wheels are wrapped in newer 215/75 BFGoodrich Radial T/A tires.

INTERIOR – FEATURES

The interior of the cab is fitted with a black vinyl bench seat and matching door panels that contrast with the red dash and floor mats. Amenities include a heater, a radio, newer window regulators, and newer door latches.

INTERIOR – GAUGES

The Dakota Digital instrumentation includes a 160-mph speedometer, an 8K-rpm tachometer, and supporting gauges for the fuel level, coolant temperature, oil pressure, and voltage. The digital odometer reads 1,000 miles, although the true mileage on the chassis is unknown.

ENGINE AND TRANSMISSION

During the restoration process, the rebuilt 350ci received a new Edelbrock carburetor, new radiator, new starter, new alternator, new fuel lines, a new under-bed fuel tank, new exhaust manifolds, and a Painless Performance Products wiring harness. Power is directed to the back wheels via a rebuilt 700R4 four-speed automatic transmission and a 3.08:1 rear end sourced from a 1970 Chevrolet Chevelle.

UNDERCARRIAGE

The suspension received new shock absorbers as part of the refurbishment. The braking system features power-assisted disc brakes up front and drums in the rear, along with replacement brake lines.
