1970 PLYMOUTH DUSTER 340

OVERVIEW

This 1970 Plymouth Duster 340 is a one-year-old rotisserie restoration powered by a 340ci V8 backed by a refurbished three-speed manual transmission. Features include newer body panels, Vintage Air climate controls, a Legendary Auto Interiors cabin, front disc brakes, and newer front and rear suspensions. Finished in Rallye Red with black stripes over a newer black vinyl interior, this Duster is available now and comes with restoration documents and a clear Virginia title in the seller's name.

EXTERIOR – FEATURES

During the restoration completed a year ago, new body panels and new Pentastar-branded glass was installed; the exterior was refinished in the original color of Rallye Red (E5). Features include chrome bumpers from Tri-City Plating of Elizabethton, Tennessee, black side accent stripes, Duster 340 decals, a driver-side mirror, and a black rear decal with a Duster 340 logo.

EXTERIOR - WHEELS AND TIRES

A set of 15-inch steel Rallye wheels with gray center caps and stainless trim rings is wrapped in 215/60 BFGoodrich Radial T/A tires.

INTERIOR – FEATURES

The Legendary Auto Interiors cabin furnishings installed as part of the restoration process include new black vinyl upholstery for the front bucket seats, front fold-down armrest, rear bench seat, and door panels. Features include manual steering, brakes, and windows; a floor-mounted manual shifter; an AM/FM radio; and Vintage Air climate controls.

INTERIOR – GAUGES

The gauge cluster was restored by Instrument Specialties of North Kingstown, Rhode Island and includes a 150-mph speedometer, a 6K-rpm tachometer, and gauges for the fuel level, coolant temperature, voltage, and oil pressure. An aftermarket coolant temperature gauge is mounted under the dashboard to the left. The odometer reads 300 miles, which reflects the miles accrued since the restoration was completed. The true mileage on this vehicle is unknown.

ENGINE AND TRANSMISSION

Originally built with a 340ci V8 and an automatic transmission, this Duster now has a period-correct replacement 340 engine and a refurbished three-speed manual gearbox. The restored engine bay's features include body-color sheet metal,  orange valve covers, an aluminum Edelbrock intake, a four-barrel carburetor. a black air cleaner, and a hood insulation pad.

UNDERCARRIAGE

This Duster was factory-equipped with an independent front suspension and a solid rear drive axle. The seller reports the rear end has been refurbished and the front and rear suspension components are new. Braking is provided by manual front discs and rear drums. A full-length dual exhaust system exits at the rear.
