OVERVIEW
This restored 1957 Chevrolet Bel Air is powered by a FiTech fuel-injected 496ci big-block V8 backed by a Tremec TKO five-speed manual transmission. Features include power windows, power disc brakes, a tilt steering column, bucket seats, a center console, a digital AM/FM stereo, air conditioning, Dakota Digital gauges, and a Pro Street narrowed rear axle. Finished in O-So-Sexy Tri-Coat red over a tan leather and fabric interior, this Bel Air is available now and comes with build sheets and a clear title.
EXTERIOR – FEATURES
The exterior is finished in O-So-Sexy Tri-Coat red from the PPG Vibrance Collection's Radiance II line. Features include chrome bumpers, brass grille trim and emblems, tri-bar halogen headlights, Bel Air side trim, electric windshield wipers, a fender-mounted antenna, dual mirrors, chrome door handle scratch guards, rocker trim, and a hidden fuel filler. The seller states that all of the exterior trim is correct and has been re-chromed.
EXTERIOR - WHEELS AND TIRES
A set of 15-inch, staggered-width chrome Cragar S/S wheels is wrapped in 26” x 7.50” front and 31” x 18.50” rear Hoosier radial tires.
INTERIOR – FEATURES
The front 1959 Impala bucket seats and the rear seat have been upholstered in tan leather and fabric by Dave Condon Custom Interiors of Orem, Utah; the trunk has been finished in a coordinating color scheme. Features include power steering, windows, and brakes; a center console that houses a manual transmission shifter; a chrome tilt steering column; air conditioning; a three-spoke Grant banjo steering wheel with a wood rim; a digital AM/FM stereo; and billet aluminum dashboard trim.
INTERIOR – GAUGES
A set of Dakota Digital analog gauges includes a 160-mph speedometer, an 8K-rpm tachometer, and readouts for the fuel level, voltage, oil pressure, and coolant temperature. The true mileage on this vehicle is unknown.
ENGINE AND TRANSMISSION
Power is provided by a 454ci big-block V8 that has been bored .030 over and stroked into a 496ci engine. The engine is equipped with four-bolt mains and connected to a Tremec TKO five-speed manual transmission. Engine bay features include Pro Comp aluminum rectangular-port heads, lifter valley screens, a Callies tempered steel crankshaft, studded main bearing cap bolts, Manley Performance rods, JE dish-top forged pistons with 10:1 compression, Manley Performance triple valve springs, a Concept One engine accessory pulley kit, Sanderson headers, Pro Comp roller rockers, a FiTech GO EFI dual-quad fuel injection system, a chrome Edelbrock air cleaner, and an MSD electronic ignition.
UNDERCARRIAGE
According to the seller, all undercarriage components have been rebuilt. The chassis has been modified to accept CPP (Classic Performance Products) tubular upper and lower control arms, power rack-and-pinion steering, a 39-inch-wide Pro Street-style nine-inch Ford rear drive axle with 4.11:1 gears and Positraction, and rear adjustable coil-over shocks and chrome ladder bars. Braking is provided by power discs. A dual exhaust system exits under the rear axle.
