Vehicle Story

OVERVIEW

This 1956 MG MGA 1500 Roadster was restored in the mid-1980s and has been with the seller since 2016. It is powered by a 1.5-liter inline four-cylinder engine backed by a four-speed manual transmission. Features include bucket seats, a folding convertible top, and a banjo steering wheel. Finished in maroon and equipped with a tan soft top over a tan vinyl interior, this MG is available now and comes with a clear Maryland title in the seller's name.

EXTERIOR – FEATURES

During the restoration in the 1980s, the exterior color was changed to maroon. Features include chrome bumpers, a chrome grille, dual mirrors, a chrome windshield frame, and a tan folding convertible top with a plastic rear window.

EXTERIOR - WHEELS AND TIRES

A set of 15-inch chrome wire wheels with knock-off center caps is wrapped in 165R15 Firestone radial tires.

INTERIOR – FEATURES

The bucket seats are upholstered in tan vinyl. Features include a floor-mounted manual transmission shifter, manual steering, manual brakes, and a banjo steering wheel.

INTERIOR – GAUGES

A 110-mph speedometer, a 7K-rpm tachometer, and gauges for the fuel level, coolant temperature, and oil pressure are located ahead of the driver. With 500 miles added during current ownership, the odometer reads 3,098 miles, but the true mileage on this vehicle is unknown.

ENGINE AND TRANSMISSION

Power is provided by a 1.5-liter inline four-cylinder engine and backed by a four-speed manual transmission. The seller states that an oil change was completed in 2021.

UNDERCARRIAGE

This MG was factory-equipped with an independent front suspension and a solid rear drive axle. Braking is provided by manual four-wheel drums. A full-length single exhaust system exits at the rear.
