Vehicle Story

OVERVIEW

This restored 1966 Ford Mustang Shelby GT350 is powered by the reportedly original 289ci Hi-Po K-code V8 backed by a four-speed manual transmission. Features include the original 14-inch alloy wheels, bucket seats, a sport steering wheel with a wood rim, front disc brakes, and a fiberglass hood. Finished in Sapphire Blue over a black vinyl interior, this Shelby GT350 is available now and comes from the selling dealer with registration records going back to the 1970s and a clear title.

EXTERIOR – FEATURES

This Mustang is one of 2,378 Shelby vehicles built in 1966. During the restoration 13 years ago, the exterior was refinished in Sapphire Blue. Features include chrome bumpers, a fiberglass hood with a hood scoop and hood pins, white GT350 side stripes, a Rotunda accessory driver-side mirror, side scoops, clear Shelby quarter windows, a Shelby gas cap, and GT350 badges. The selling dealer states that this Mustang was originally ordered without the optional Le Mans stripes.

EXTERIOR - WHEELS AND TIRES

The reportedly original 14-inch Shelby alloy wheels are wrapped in older radial tires. A matching spare wheel with a tire comes with the car.

INTERIOR – FEATURES

The front bucket seats, folding rear seat, trim, and door panels are upholstered in black vinyl. Features include manual steering, brakes, and windows; a floor-mounted manual transmission shifter; and a three-spoke steering wheel with a wood rim.

INTERIOR – GAUGES

A 140-mph speedometer and gauges for the fuel level, oil pressure, amperage, and coolant temperature are located ahead of the driver. A Cobra-branded 9K-rpm tachometer is mounted to the top of the dashboard. The odometer reads 55,051 miles, which the selling dealer reports to be accurate and documented.

ENGINE AND TRANSMISSION

Power is provided by the reportedly original 289ci Hi-Po K-code V8 engine and backed by a four-speed manual transmission. Output was 306 horsepower when new. Engine bay features include black cast aluminum finned valve covers, an aluminum intake, a chrome air cleaner, and inner fender and shock tower braces.

UNDERCARRIAGE

This Mustang is equipped with an independent front suspension and a solid rear drive axle. Braking is provided by manual front discs and rear drums. A full-length dual exhaust system exits at the rear.

ADDITIONAL DETAILS

The selling dealer charges a $150 documentation fee in addition to the price of the vehicle. Registration records dating back to the 1970s will be included with the car.
