OVERVIEW
This 1957 BMW Isetta was restored in the early 2000s and is powered by a 298cc single-cylinder engine mated to a four-speed manual transmission. Features include a rear luggage rack, a folding top, chrome bumpers, and hydraulic brakes. Finished in red and equipped with a white convertible top over a white vinyl interior, this BMW microcar is available now and comes from the selling dealer with a clear title.
EXTERIOR – FEATURES
During the restoration, the exterior was finished in red and equipped with new U.S.-spec chrome bumpers with guards. Features include a hinged front entry door, a white folding convertible top, sliding side windows, and a luggage rack. A full walk-around video is available below.
EXTERIOR - WHEELS AND TIRES
A set of four 10-inch white steel wheels with chrome hub caps is wrapped in 145R10 Camac radial tires. The seller states that the wheels and tires are in good condition.
INTERIOR – FEATURES
The bench seat is upholstered in white vinyl with red piping. Features include manual steering and brakes, functional dual windshield wipers, a reserve fuel supply lever, and a black rubber floor covering with a tan woven floor mat.
INTERIOR – GAUGES
A reverse-sweep 60-mph VDO speedometer is mounted in a red panel ahead of the driver. The odometer reads 31,581 miles, but the true mileage on this vehicle is unknown.
ENGINE AND TRANSMISSION
Power is provided by a 298cc single-cylinder engine mated to a four-speed manual transmission. The selling dealer states that the spark plug, drive chain, battery, fuel tap, and oil were replaced in February 2021.
UNDERCARRIAGE
This Isetta was factory-equipped with an independent front suspension and a solid rear drive transaxle. Braking is provided by hydraulic drums. According to the selling dealer, the exhaust, suspension, brakes, and steering were replaced during the restoration process.
