OVERVIEW
This 1957 Rambler Custom Cross Country station wagon has been restored from top to bottom and was part of a private collection for the last 15 years. It is powered by a 196ci inline-six mated to a Hydra-Matic automatic transmission and features an external Travel Rack for luggage, brightwork, reclining front seats, and whitewall tires. Finished in two-tone Sierra Peach and Cinnamon Bronze Metallic over a peach vinyl and black cloth interior, this Rambler is now offered by the selling dealer with period-style luggage and a clear title.
EXTERIOR – FEATURES
The two-tone Sierra Peach and Cinnamon Bronze finish was applied during the restoration process. The brightwork, which includes the grille, hood ornaments, bumpers with guards, side moldings, and roof-mounted chrome Travel Rack, is noted to be in good condition. A drop-down tailgate provides access to the rear cargo compartment.
EXTERIOR – WHEELS AND TIRES
Steel 15-inch wheels with full hubcaps are wrapped in wide-whitewall tires.
INTERIOR – FEATURES
The two-bench interior is fitted with peach vinyl and black cloth upholstery, color-coordinated door panels, a black dash, and black carpeting. Additional features include a reclining front bench, chrome and aluminum trim, manual vent and side windows, and armrests on the door panels.
INTERIOR – GAUGES
Instrumentation consists of a 110-mph speedometer, gauges for the fuel level and coolant temperature, an analog clock, and a warning light for the oil pressure. The five-digit mechanical odometer reads 84,928 miles, but the true mileage on the chassis is unknown.
ENGINE AND TRANSMISSION
The 196ci OHV inline-six is connected to a single-barrel carburetor and an oil-bath air cleaner. Power is fed to the rear wheels via a column-shifted Hydra-Matic automatic transmission.
UNDERCARRIAGE
Additional photos showing the underside are available in the gallery to the right.
ADDITIONAL DETAILS
The sale includes period-style luggage. A $145 dealer fee/tax will be added to the purchase price. The selling dealer will collect additional registration/sales tax from in-state buyers. They have provided a video below that includes an introduction, a cold start, and a walkaround.

@wizman44 – The description says that the interior is peach vinyl and black cloth interior, but the photos look like blue cloth. Which is it? Is this the car from the 57 Heaven museum formerly in Branson, MO? Curated and restored by Bob Schmidt? ...
The cloth is black. Not sure if this is the same one from that museum.
