BURT REYNOLDS-SIGNED 1978 PONTIAC FIREBIRD TRANS AM

OVERVIEW

This 1978 Pontiac Firebird Trans Am performance coupe has been customized as a Smokey and the Bandit tribute and bears Burt Reynolds’ signature. It is powered by a 450-horsepower fuel-injected 400ci V8 mated to a 700R4 four-speed automatic transmission. Equipment includes removable T-tops, power-adjustable bucket seats, front and rear spoilers, 17-inch honeycomb wheels, and a quad-outlet exhaust system. Finished in black with gold decals and accents over a tan leather interior, this second-generation Firebird is now offered by the selling dealer with documentation and a clear Florida title.

EXTERIOR – FEATURES

The black exterior was modified with Firebird hood graphics and gold accents to pay tribute to the Smokey and the Bandit film franchise. Features include quad headlights, front fender flares, an induction hood, removable T-tops, sport mirrors, a rear spoiler, and a quad-outlet exhaust system.

EXTERIOR – WHEELS AND TIRES

Aluminum 17-inch honeycomb wheels with gold pockets and polished lips are wrapped in Kumho tires.

INTERIOR – FEATURES

The 2+2 interior has been upgraded with late-model six-way power-adjustable tan leather bucket seats up front, dual seats in the rear, and matching materials for the door panels, dash, center console, and carpeting. Amenities include a leather-wrapped steering wheel, Trans Am-branded floor mats, a carpeted dash mat, a passenger-side grab-handle, an upgraded stereo, power windows, and a tilt-adjustable steering column. The signature of Burt Reynolds is featured on the passenger-side sun visor.  

INTERIOR – GAUGES

Instrumentation includes a 100-mph speedometer, a 6K-rpm tachometer, and supporting gauges that show the oil pressure, coolant temperature, fuel level, and voltage. The five-digit mechanical odometer reads 10,370 miles, but the true mileage on the chassis is unknown.

ENGINE AND TRANSMISSION

The fuel-injected 400ci V8 reportedly produces 450 horsepower at the rear wheels. The engine is connected to a console-shifted 700R4 four-speed automatic transmission.
