Vehicle Story

OVERVIEW

This 1952 Ford Crestline Sunliner convertible was previously Texas-owned and is powered by a rebuilt 239ci flathead V8 mated to an overhauled Ford-O-Matic three-speed automatic transmission. Equipment includes a continental kit, a spotlight, Firestone whitewall tires, and an AM radio. Finished in metallic burgundy and equipped with a tan power-retractable top over a burgundy and ivory vinyl interior, this Crestline is now offered with a brochure, an owner’s manual, booklets, two spare tires, a jack stand, and a clear Connecticut title.

EXTERIOR – FEATURES

The reportedly rust-free exterior is coated in metallic burgundy. Exterior features include a tan power-retractable top, chrome brightwork, a driver-side spotlight, rear fender accents, and a continental kit with a spare tire enclosed. An additional spare tire will be included with the car. The seller notes that the top is slow to operate when closing.

EXTERIOR – WHEELS AND TIRES

Steel 15-inch wheels with Ford-branded chrome hub caps are wrapped in Firestone Champion Deluxe whitewall bias-ply tires.

INTERIOR – FEATURES

The interior is fitted with burgundy and ivory vinyl bench seats for the front and rear. Amenities include a push-button AM radio, a heater, and a clock.

INTERIOR – GAUGES

Instrumentation includes a 100-mph speedometer surrounded by gauges for the fuel level, coolant temperature, oil pressure, and voltage. The five-digit mechanical odometer reads 61,157 miles, which the seller reports to be accurate.

ENGINE AND TRANSMISSION

The 239ci flathead V8 has reportedly been overhauled. It received an oil change in August 2022, a new battery in 2021, and a new generator and a new voltage regulator in 2018. Power is transferred to the rear wheels via a rebuilt Ford-O-Matic three-speed automatic transmission.

UNDERCARRIAGE

Undercarriage work in 2018 included the resurfacing of the front brake drums, chassis lubrication, and the replacement of the rear axle bearings and seals.

ADDITIONAL DETAILS

The sale includes a jack stand, two spare tires, owner’s booklets, and a brochure. The seller has provided a short video of the engine bay with the vehicle running.
