Vehicle Story

OVERVIEW

This restored 1961 Ford Falcon Ranchero coupe utility receives power from an unmodified Thriftpower 144ci inline-six mated to a Ford-O-Matic two-speed automatic transmission. It was located in California prior to being moved to Oklahoma and comes equipped with brightwork, a B&M shift lever, whitewall tires, and a push-button radio. Finished in yellow over a two-tone black and yellow vinyl interior, this second-generation Ranchero is now offered with restoration documentation, windshield wiper components, and a clear California title.

EXTERIOR – FEATURES

The reportedly rust-free exterior was repainted yellow during a prior restoration. Exterior features include chrome brightwork, dual mirrors, and a black bed interior. The seller notes that the vacuum-powered wipers have limited functionality.

EXTERIOR – WHEELS AND TIRES

Color-keyed 13-inch steel wheels with center caps are wrapped in whitewall tires.

INTERIOR – FEATURES

The interior is fitted with a black and yellow vinyl split-bench seat, matching door panels, and a black dash and carpeting. Amenities include lap belts, a B&M shifter, a radio, and chrome accent trim.

INTERIOR – GAUGES

Instrumentation consists of a 100-mph speedometer and auxiliary gauges for the fuel level and coolant temperature. The five-digit mechanical odometer reads 41,500 miles, but the true mileage on the chassis is unknown.

ENGINE AND TRANSMISSION

The unmodified Thriftpower 144ci inline-six is powered by a 12-volt electrical system. Torque is fed to the rear wheels through a floor-shifted Ford-O-Matic two-speed automatic transmission.

ADDITIONAL DETAILS

The sale includes restoration documentation and windshield wiper components.
