This 1977 Pontiac Firebird Trans Am is finished in Buccaneer Red and powered by a rebuilt 455ci V8 mated to a 4-speed manual transmission. Options include power brakes, power steering, rally gauges, and air conditioning. This Trans Am is located in California and is now offered by the selling dealer with a clean Illinois title.
The body is finished in paint code 75, Buccaneer Red, and features chrome window trim, a shaker hood with “Screaming Chicken” graphics, and Trans Am decals on the front fenders, front bumper, and rear decklid. Additional equipment includes front and rear spoilers, vented front fenders, and fog lights. The seller notes minor paint bubbling on the fenders and lower rockers.
Factory 15″ snowflake wheels are mounted with BFGoodrich rubber at all four corners. Power front disc brakes were equipped from the factory.
The cabin is finished in Morrokide bucket seats in tan vinyl with matching door panels and carpeting. Air conditioning, a center console, tilt steering, and an electric clock were equipped as factory options. The seller notes the A/C operates on R12 refrigerant and is in need of recharge to be operable
A 3 spoke Formula steering wheel fronts a machine-turned finish trim plate featuring rally gauges, a 100 mph speedometer, a 6,000 rpm tachometer, and the center console features a Hurst T-handle shifter. The five-digit odometer shows approximately 43,410 miles with true mileage unknown. The trunk is finished with factory style plaid vinyl and houses a snowflake spare wearing a Cooper white letter tire.
The 455ci V8 was previously rebuilt and sourced from a 1973 Trans Am, per the seller, from which power is distributed to the rear wheels through a 4-speed manual transmission and a Posi-traction rear axle. The transmission and rear-end were rebuilt just a few years ago.
Additional photos of the undercarriage can be seen in the photo gallery.
