OVERVIEW
This 1976 Porsche 914 receives power from a nitrous oxide-injected LS1 5.7-liter V8 mated to a Porsche Boxster S-sourced six-speed manual transmission. Under the seller’s nine-year ownership, it reportedly received $25,000 in paint and bodywork as well as upgrades to the brakes, suspension, and interior. Equipment includes air conditioning, power windows, back-dated chrome bumpers, HID lighting, Fuchs wheels, Speedhut instrumentation, and a dual exhaust system. Finished in black over a black vinyl and cloth interior, this modified 914 is now offered with build receipts and a clear Utah title in the seller’s name.
EXTERIOR – FEATURES
The exterior reportedly underwent a $25,000 refinish involving a bare-metal repaint in black, the body lines being straightened, and the rear fenders being rolled. Added exterior features include HID (high-intensity discharge) headlights, 1973 Porsche 914 chrome bumpers, newer light lenses, front and rear valances, custom rocker panels, dual mirrors, newer rubber moldings and trim, rolled rear fenders, and a dual exhaust system.
EXTERIOR – GAUGES
Chrome 16-inch Fuchs wheels are wrapped in Firestone Firehawk tires sized 205/55 up front and 225/50 in the rear.
INTERIOR – FEATURES
The two-seat cockpit is fitted with black vinyl and fabric buckets, matched to the door panels and carpeting. A 911-style dash has been incorporated. Additional interior features include a roll bar, floor mats, power windows, power door locks, JAZ Products four-point safety harnesses, and air conditioning.
INTERIOR – GAUGES
The white-faced Speedhut instrumentation includes a speedometer, a tachometer, and auxiliary gauges. The odometer reads 1,154 miles, which is accurate, according to the seller.
ENGINE AND TRANSMISSION
The nitrous-injected LS1 5.7-liter V8 received an oil change from the seller within the last few weeks and comes equipped with upgrades that include a custom wiring harness and computer, CNC ported heads, and a performance camshaft. Power is transferred to the rear wheels via a six-speed manual transmission that was sourced from a Porsche Boxster S, along with custom axles and CV joints.
UNDERCARRIAGE
The chassis uses a 911 front suspension with Koni adjustable struts while the rear employs a Porsche 914/6 setup with coilovers. The body and chassis have been reinforced at the front end and along the rockers. Recent work includes the installation of new wheel bearings and tie rod ends. Stopping power comes from cross-drilled rotors and newer brake calipers.
ADDITIONAL DETAILS
The sale includes build receipts.
Could you answer the questions please?
Seller, Can you reply to the questions already asked? Also, would you be comfortable driving this 914 say to New England? Could it be a daily driver? Or is it just a weekend toy for track days?
BID: $21,900
Hi , any pics of underside , install set up? Thanks.
Hi, very nice ride. Was the engine and transmission build done by a shop or was this a home project? How well does the air-conditioning work? Can it sot in traffic and not overheat? Thanks.
