This 1967 Ford Mustang Coupe was the recipient of a full restoration, completed in 2018 after being acquired by the seller in 2010. Finished in Royal Red Metallic paint over black vinyl, the car is powered by a 302ci V8 mated to a rebuilt 3 speed C4 automatic transmission. Features include four-wheel disc brakes, performance exhaust, an aluminum radiator, Procar bucket seats, and air conditioning. Approximately 1,400 miles have been added since the restoration was completed. This Mustang is now offered with extensive records from the restoration and a clean Utah title.
The body was professionally refinished in 2016 in Royal Red Metallic with hand-laid pinstriping across the upper body line and decklid. During the restoration, both rear quarters and the passenger side fender were replaced, as were the inner and outer tubs. The rear features sequential-blinking taillights as well as polished tips for the dual exhaust.
The car rides on a set of Schott Mod 5 EXL with the fronts measuring 17 x 7’s and wrapped in Nexen 215/45 tires, while the rears are 17 x 10’s and wear Nitto 285 /40's. Braking is provided by SSBC 4 Wheel Power Brakes with 11.25 inch Big Bite cross-drilled & slotted rotors. Aluminum calipers are fitted front and rear, with new brake lines and a power booster.
The interior features Procar front bucket seats in black with new rear seat upholstery. The headliner, dash pad, carpeting, and door panels have been replaced, and sound deadening material is affixed from the firewall to the rear seats. New running horse seat belts have been added, as have polished aluminum sill plates, and a deluxe TMI center console was installed. Classic Auto Air restored the air conditioning and heater box. Other new items include door glass regulators, door pads and weather seals. Red logo mats cover the carpeting, while a billet gas pedal and brake pedal are fitted. The factory stereo has been upgraded with a Kenwood Excelon KDC-X301 head unit, 3x1/4" three-way speakers in the kick panels, and dual four-way 6x9" speakers in the rear package tray. The car is currently equipped with secondary hand controls, which will be removed prior to the sale.
A 3-spoke steering wheel frames a new black instrument bezel and lenses, housing a 140 mph speedometer and gauges for fuel, oil, and temperature while an 8k rpm tach is mounted underneath the dash. A new Scott Drake clock was installed as well. The odometer currently reads 44,306; true miles are unknown, and 1,400 miles have been added since the restoration.
Power is provided by a 302 ci V8 based on a Mexican-spec block, rebuilt with aluminum heads, .30 over, 195 intake runners, 64cc with 202 intake valves. An Edelbrock Performer Cam and hydraulic lifters are featured, with ProComp roller rockers arms. Trick Flow pushrods, an Edelbrock performer intake, Edelbrock Carb 600cfm electric choke are equipped as well. Additional new parts include a Summit Racing gear drive, chrome power master alternator, Borgeson power steering gearbox, pump, and hoses. Ford aluminum valve covers were fitted, along with an aluminum oil pan, new motor mounts, new bolts, and new aluminum wire looms. Power is transferred to the rear wheels through a C4 automatic transmission and rebuilt rear end.
Front suspension modifications include a new Total Control products suspension with a Shelby drop, adjustable coil-over shocks, new upper and lower arms, strut rods, shock mounts, and a sway bar with billet mounts. The spindles and pitman arm have been red powder coated. The rear suspension sports a Scott Drake 5 Leaf, leaf spring with all new rubber and brackets. The rebuilt rear end features powder coating, along with all new seals, nuts, and bolts. New red braided brake lines and coil-over shocks complete the custom set up. Additional photos of the undercarriage can be seen in the gallery.
Secondary hand controls are currently attached to the car and will be removed prior to the sale, and the oil will be changed as well. The majority of the receipts from the restoration are included in the sale.
