1965 Pontiac GTO

OVERVIEW

This fully restored 1965 Pontiac GTO is powered by the original 389ci V8 engine backed by an automatic transmission. Features include a Tri-Power intake system, power convertible top, power steering and brakes, factory tachometer, and bucket seats with center console. Finished in Fontaine Blue metallic with black vinyl interior, this rust-free 1965 Pontiac GTO is available now and comes from the selling dealer with PHS documents, new uninstalled floor mats, convertible top boot and a clear title.

EXTERIOR – FEATURES

During the restoration, the exterior was refinished in Fontaine Blue Poly. Features include chrome bumpers, black and silver grille with GTO emblem, correct quad T3 headlights, fender-mounted antenna, hood scoop, power black vinyl convertible top, wheel opening and rocker trim, and ribbed rear body trim and taillights.

EXTERIOR - WHEELS AND TIRES

A set of 14-inch Pontiac Rally I wheels, finished in silver with chrome center caps and stainless-steel trim rings, is wrapped in 7.75 x 14-inch redline Firestone bias-ply tires.

INTERIOR – FEATURES

The front bucket seats, rear seat, door panels and other trim are upholstered in black vinyl. Features include power steering and brakes, manual windows, center console with automatic shifter, three-spoke steering wheel with a wood rim, AM radio and woodgrain accents.

INTERIOR – GAUGES

A  120-mph speedometer, 8,000-rpm tachometer and gauges for the fuel level, oil pressure and coolant temperature are located ahead of the driver. The odometer reads 176 miles though the true mileage on this vehicle is unknown. [Dealer states that the 1801 mileage is accurate, but I believe they included the 10ths in the number. Maybe since the restoration. The odometer actually reads 176.4]

ENGINE AND TRANSMISSION

Power is provided by the reportedly original 389ci V8 engine backed by an automatic transmission. All underhood components have been restored to factory specifications. The selling dealer states that this GTO was regularly serviced every six months. [Not sure what this includes]

UNDERCARRIAGE

This GTO was factory-equipped with an independent front suspension and a solid rear-drive axle. Braking is provided by power four-wheel drums. A dual exhaust system exits at the rear. Additional photos of the undercarriage can be found in the carousel to the right.
