This 1969 Pontiac Grand Prix is finished in Warwick Blue over a blue vinyl interior and powered by a 455ci V8 engine, backed by a 3-speed automatic transmission. Features include Ram Air III exhaust manifolds, original AM radio, power front disc brakes, and power steering. Now offered by the selling dealer, the Grand Prix is offered with partial service records and a clear Ilinois title.
Finished in its factory original Warwick Blue (Code 53), the Grand Prix exterior showcased the world’s longest hood of any production car in history at the time it was built. Other exterior features include a large V-shaped grille, square headlamps, and flush-mounted “pop-open” exterior door handles. Rear taillights are integrated into the chrome rear bumper, with tips for the dual exhaust exiting just below
The 14” factory steel wheels are finished to match the body and feature black and chrome Pontiac hubcaps. Maxtour GT Radial Blackwall radial tires are installed on all four corners. Braking is handled by power disc brakes on the front and drums on the rear.
Inside, the Grand Prix’s cabin features blue vinyl bucket seating with cloth inserts with matching door panels, carpets, and dash. A center console is mounted between the seats and contains a locking storage compartment and shifter for the automatic transmission. Woodgrain accents are found on the wrap-around dash with the AM radio and climate controls located in the center. The car was equipped with air conditioning from the factory however, the compressor was removed, and the system is currently inoperable; the compressor and other removed components are included in the sale.
Behind the blue factory, three-spoke steering wheel sits factory gauges, including a 140-mph speedometer, an analog clock, and ancillary gauges with readouts for fuel, engine temperature, voltage and oil pressure. 9,400 miles are shown on the analog odometer, though true mileage is unknown.
The original engine was removed and replaced with a 1973 "YC" code 455ci V8 engine, which was factory rated at 370 horsepower when new. It's equipped with chrome valve covers and air cleaner, as well as exhaust manifolds off a Ram Air III engine. Power is transferred to the rear wheels through a 3-speed automatic transmission with a floor-mounted shifter.
