OVERVIEW
This 1972 Pontiac GTO is powered by a 6.0-liter LS2 V8 engine backed by a six-speed manual transmission. EXTERIOR – FEATURES
The exterior has been refinished in Orbit Orange. Features include a color-matched Endura front bumper, hood scoops, hood-mounted tachometer, front fender vents, dual color-keyed sport mirrors with a driver-side manual remote, rocker trim, color-matched rear spoiler and custom accent striping.
EXTERIOR - WHEELS AND TIRES
A set of Pontiac Rally II wheels is wrapped in BFGoodrich radial T/A tires.
INTERIOR – FEATURES
The front bucket seats and rear seat are upholstered in tan leather with embroidered GTO emblems. Features include custom-sculpted door panels with manual windows, power steering and brakes, tilt steering column, three-spoke steering wheel with a wood rim, floor-mounted shifter, Vintage Air climate controls and a vintage-look AM/FM stereo.
INTERIOR – GAUGES
The instrument panel includes a 140-mph speedometer, clock and gauges for the fuel level, oil pressure and coolant temperature. An 8,000-rpm tachometer is mounted on the hood. An additional set of gauges for the oil pressure, water temperature and voltage are located under the dashboard. An aftermarket 8K-rpm tachometer is also mounted under the dashboard. The odometer reads 35,251 miles, but the true mileage on this vehicle is unknown.
ENGINE AND TRANSMISSION
The original X-code 455 HO V8 has been replaced with an LS2 6.0-liter V8 engine, which is backed by a six-speed manual transmission. Engine bay features include GTO engine covers, smooth body-color firewall, fresh air intake tube and tube exhaust manifolds. The selling dealer states that regular service was completed every six months, with the last service being completed on March 11, 2023, which included an oil change.
UNDERCARRIAGE
This GTO is factory-equipped with an independent front suspension and a solid rear-drive axle. Braking is provided by power front discs and rear drums. A dual exhaust system exits at the rear. Additional photos of the undercarriage can be found in the carousel to the right.

This is somewhat of a head-scratcher. Was there a reason someone pulled the original LS 455 HO to pop in that littleLS2 small block 364? Is the original engine still available, or did something bad happen to it that required the switch?
