496-POWERED 1969 CHEVROLET CHEVELLE MALIBU CONVERTIBLE 5-SPEED

OVERVIEW

This 1969 Chevrolet Chevelle Malibu convertible is powered by a 496ci V8 backed by a TREMEC five-speed manual transmission. EXTERIOR – FEATURES

The exterior was refinished in the original color of Glacier Blue (paint code 53). Features include chrome bumpers, black side accent stripes, a fender-mounted antenna, an SS hood, SS396 emblems, dual rearview mirrors, a black power-operated convertible top, wheel well trim, and a black rear tail panel. The front bucket seats, rear bench seat, rear trim, and door panels are upholstered in black vinyl. Features include power brakes and steering, air conditioning, a center console with a Hurst manual transmission shifter, manual windows, a three-spoke steering wheel with a Rosewood rim, a black dashboard with a black top pad, and SS396 emblems.

INTERIOR – GAUGES

A 120-mph speedometer, clock, and fuel level gauge are located ahead of the driver. AutoMeter gauges for the oil pressure and coolant temperature are located under the dashboard. The odometer reads 48,432 miles, but the true mileage on this vehicle is unknown.

ENGINE AND TRANSMISSION

The upgraded 496ci big-block V8 reportedly generates more than 500 horsepower and is backed by a TREMEC five-speed manual transmission. Engine bay features include chrome valve covers, a Weiand high-rise aluminum intake manifold, a chrome air cleaner, and an MSD electronic ignition system.

UNDERCARRIAGE

This Chevelle is equipped with an independent front suspension and a solid 12-bolt rear drive axle with Positraction. Braking is provided by power front discs and rear drums. A dual exhaust system exits at the rear.
