OVERVIEW
This frame-off restored 1969 Chevrolet Chevelle SS 396 is powered by a L35 396ci V8 backed by a Muncie four-speed manual transmission. Features include power steering and front disc brakes, bucket seats, vintage-look digital AM/FM stereo, and center console. Finished in Garnet Red with red vinyl interior, this rust-free 1969 Chevelle SS 396 is available now and comes from the selling dealer with a clear title.
EXTERIOR – FEATURES
The exterior is finished in the original color of Garnet Red (code 52) over what is reportedly the original sheet metal. Features include chrome bumpers, SS hood, SS 396 emblems, driver-side rear-view mirror, wheel well trim, rear-mounted antenna and black tail panel. The seller states that the buyer can choose a white or black longitudinal accent stripe if desired. A walk-around video can be seen below.
EXTERIOR - WHEELS AND TIRES
A set of 14-inch SS wheels is wrapped in Cooper Cobra Radial G/T tires.
INTERIOR – FEATURES
The front bucket seats, rear seat and interior trim are upholstered in red vinyl (code 788) per the data tag. Features include power brakes, manual steering, red dashboard and center console with manual shifter, manual windows, two-spoke steering wheel, vintage-look digital AM/FM stereo, and SS 396 emblems.
INTERIOR – GAUGES
The instrument panel includes a 120-mph speedometer, 7,000-rpm tachometer and gauges for the fuel level, coolant temperature, oil pressure and voltage. Aftermarket gauges for the oil pressure and coolant temperature are located under the dashboard. The odometer reads 89,753 miles, but the true mileage on this vehicle is unknown.
ENGINE AND TRANSMISSION
Power is provided by a freshly rebuilt, period-correct warranty replacement block, a L35 396ci V8 with 325 horsepower. It is paired with a four-speed manual transmission. Engine features include chrome valve covers and air cleaner, and cast-iron exhaust manifolds.
UNDERCARRIAGE
This Chevelle is factory-equipped with an independent front suspension and solid 12-bolt rear-drive axle. Braking is provided by power front discs and rear drums. A dual exhaust system exits at the rear.
