OVERVIEW
This 1968 Shelby GT500 is powered by a 428ci V8 backed by an upgraded TREMEC five-speed manual transmission. Features include power front disc brakes, dual rear-view mirrors, AM radio, bucket seats, folding rear seat, center console and Carroll Shelby’s signature. Finished in Lime Gold with tan vinyl interior, this rust-free Shelby is available now and comes from the selling dealer with a clear title.
EXTERIOR – FEATURES
This Shelby is number.00643 with full history listed in the Shelby Registry. The exterior is finished in Lime Gold with white Le Mans stripes. Features include chrome bumpers, air induction hood with twist-lock pins, fog lights, wheel opening and rocker moldings, dual rear-view mirrors with a driver-side manual remote, side scoops, Cobra and Shelby emblems, white GT500 stripes, fender-mounted antenna, C-pillar scoops, silver rear accent panel with sequential taillights, and Shelby gas cap.

The instrument panel consists of AutoMeter gauges including a 160-mph speedometer, 10,000-rpm tachometer, clock, and gauges for the fuel level and coolant temperature. Gauges for the voltage and oil pressure are located in the center console. The odometer reads 2,523 miles, which the selling dealer reports to be the mileage since the restoration was completed.
ENGINE AND TRANSMISSION
Power is provided by a reported factory-correct Cobra 428ci V8 engine backed by an upgraded TREMEC five-speed manual transmission replacing the original automatic. Engine features include finned Cobra valve covers and air cleaner, Holley 715 carburetor, aluminum intake manifold and aluminum cylinder heads.
UNDERCARRIAGE
This Shelby is factory-equipped with an independent front suspension and a solid rear-drive axle. Braking is provided by power front discs and rear drums. A dual exhaust exits at the rear with quad tips.
