OVERVIEW
This 1963 Ford F100 pickup receives power from a rebuilt 292ci V8 mated to a four-speed manual transmission. It sold at Barrett-Jackson Scottsdale in March 2021 and comes with equipment including a CD sound system, a period-correct GEM aluminum camper shell, newer tires, and an Edelbrock carburetor. Finished in Rangoon Red with white accents over a black and white vinyl interior, this fourth-generation F-Series is now offered with the camper shell, an owner’s manual, a service manual, a brochure, a paint chart, a service log, and a clear title.
EXTERIOR – FEATURES
The Rangoon Red (J) exterior shows aging and patina consistent with an older finish, including a rough spot on one of the doors. Features include white accents for the bumpers and grille, tow mirrors, and a bed-mounted spare tire in the matte gray bed.
EXTERIOR – WHEELS AND TIRES
White steel wheels with Ford-branded center caps are wrapped in newer tires.
INTERIOR – FEATURES
The interior of the cab is fitted with a two-tone black and white vinyl bench seat. Amenities include a body-color dash, lap belts, and an AM/FM/CD audio system.
INTERIOR – GAUGES
Instrumentation includes a 100-mph speedometer and a fuel gauge. The five-digit mechanical odometer is inoperative; the true mileage on the chassis is unknown.
ENGINE AND TRANSMISSION
The 292ci V8 was reportedly rebuilt around 1996 and features solid lifters and an Edelbrock carburetor on a 4V intake manifold that was sourced from a 1957 Ford Thunderbird. Work under prior ownership included a valve adjustment and the replacement of the valve cover gaskets, oil pan gasket, transmission rear seal, transmission side cover gaskets, and rear-end oil and housing gasket. Power is sent to the rear wheels via a floor-shifted four-speed manual transmission.
UNDERCARRIAGE
Chassis work under prior ownership included the replacement of the kingpins and rear leaf spring bushings along with the installation of new coil helper springs. The brakes have also been replaced within the last two years.
ADDITIONAL DETAILS
This F100 was previously sold on AutoHunter, but it is being relisted because the buyer backed out of the transaction through no fault of the seller. The sale includes an owner’s manual, a maintenance log, a brochure, a paint chart, and a service manual. A period-correct aluminum GEM-branded camper shell will also accompany the truck.
