OVERVIEW
This 1970 Chevrolet Chevelle two-door hardtop was treated to a rotisserie restoration under prior ownership. It receives power from a 454ci big-block V8 linked with a 700R4 four-speed automatic transmission and a 3.73:1 Positraction rear end. Equipment includes power steering, power front disc brakes, 15-inch Magnum 500-style wheels, a center console, a tilt steering wheel, a dual exhaust system, and SS badging. Finished in Cortez Silver with black stripes over a black vinyl interior, this second-generation Chevelle is now offered with the removed original rear-end gears and a clear title.
EXTERIOR – FEATURES
The Cortez Silver exterior features black accent stripes on the hood and trunk lid, directional signals on the front fenders, chrome brightwork, hood retention pins, SS fender badging, dual mirrors, and a dual exhaust system. The seller notes that the cowl-induction hood works intermittently. They have posted a walk-around video below.
EXTERIOR – WHEELS AND TIRES
The 15-inch Magnum 500-style wheels with polished trim rings are wrapped in 225/70 front and 275/60 rear BFGoodrich Radial T/A raised-white-letter tires.
INTERIOR – FEATURES
The interior is furnished with black vinyl bucket seats up front, a bench in the rear, and matching materials for the door panels, dash, and carpeting. Amenities include carpeted floor mats, a center console with a horseshoe shifter, an AM radio, tinted glass, and a tilt steering column.
INTERIOR – GAUGES
Instrumentation includes a 120-mph speedometer surrounded by a 7K-rpm tachometer, a clock, and gauges for the fuel level, coolant temperature, and voltage. The reportedly accurate five-digit analog odometer reads 25,545 miles. Two aftermarket meters below the dashboard display additional information.
ENGINE AND TRANSMISSION
According to the seller, the 454ci big-block V8 was rated at 450 horsepower. It received an oil change in the fall of 2022; the Optima battery was installed in March 2023. Power is delivered to the rear wheels via a 700R4 four-speed automatic transmission and an upgraded 3.73:1 Positraction rear end.
UNDERCARRIAGE
Steering is power-assisted. Stopping is performed by power disc brakes up front and drums in the rear.
ADDITIONAL DETAILS
This vehicle was previously sold on AutoHunter, but it is being relisted after the buyer backed out of the transaction through no fault of the seller. The sale includes the car’s removed original rear-end gears.

@Ssrs454 – Thanks. I see the trim tag. I would like a photo of the vin plate. ...
the VIN plate was added today.. had been hard to see until I put a strong light on it. Also had a friend take photo of the engine block number. Hope all this helps.
The VIN can also be found in the additional carousel now.
We have now uploaded a seller provided photo of the engine block numbers.
This car is lucky to have GM of Canada tag, which you should be able to get GM of Canada docs which show how the car was delivered. A VIN pic of the dash (through the windshield) would help as well. thanks
What type of ignition system does the engine have? Points & condenser or HEI Was there a restoration and if so when Thanks Doug

@Shopster – A photo of the trim tag is posted. I will see if I can photograph the engine info you requested. I don't think I have the capability to do so but will try. ...
First of all, thank you for you bids. I have added photos for your inspection of the " numbers" that I could photograph to answer your questions. I feel that the photos aren't exactly what you want after a search of the engine bay, door jams glove compartment , firewall etc. I can't see or photograph any other sites in the engine bay.The VIN tag may have been removed when the restoration was done. Of course, you are always welcome to have a more experienced person inspect the car.
