Vehicle Story

OVERVIEW

This 1954 Dodge M37 military-grade four-wheel-drive pickup receives power from a rebuilt T245 230ci inline six-cylinder mated to a four-speed manual transmission and a dual-range transfer case. It was classified when new as a three-quarter-ton pickup and underwent a $5,400+ mechanical overhaul in 2022 that included a complete engine disassembly and blueprinting. Finished in military green with white decals over a tan cloth interior, this M37 is now offered with service records, spare parts, and a clear  title.

EXTERIOR - FEATURES

The matte military green exterior features tow hooks, a brush guard, a split windshield, side mirrors, a canvas roof, side steps, wooden bed rails, a spare tire, and a drop-down tailgate with chain retention hardware and a shovel mount.

EXTERIOR – WHEELS AND TIRES

Body-color 16-inch five-lug steel wheels are wrapped in all-terrain tires.

INTERIOR – FEATURES

The interior is furnished with a tan cloth split bench seat and body-color metal finishes for the dash, door panels, and flooring. Features include manual-crank windows, a heater, and data plates on the dash.

INTERIOR – GAUGES

Instrumentation includes a 60-mph speedometer and supporting gauges for the oil pressure, voltage, fuel level, and coolant temperature. The five-digit mechanical odometer reads 27,333 miles, but the true mileage on the chassis is unknown.

ENGINE AND TRANSMISSION

The T245 230ci inline six-cylinder engine went through a complete $5,400+ rebuild in 2022 as illustrated by the service records in the gallery to the right. Work performed by Redline Automotive in Davie, Florida included disassembly of the block, replacement of the pistons and rods, boring and honing the cylinders, a valve job, resurfacing of the cylinder head, and blueprinting of the engine. Power is directed to all four wheels via a floor-shifted four-speed manual transmission and a dual-range transfer case.

UNDERCARRIAGE

The suspension uses live beam axles on leaf springs.

ADDITIONAL DETAILS

The sale includes service records and the spare parts shown in the gallery. The seller has posted short videos below that include a walk-around, an engine start, and close-ups of the exterior and interior.
