OVERVIEW
This 1995 Merlin MP CN prototype racecar has been owned, shown, and raced in Europe as a competitor in the 2018 Coppa Ugo Barone race in Italy most recently. Power comes from a Honda B16A2 1.6-liter inline-four mated to a Hewland four-speed manual racing transmission. Equipment includes Avon tires, a fire suppression system, a tubular roll cage, and a Sabelt safety harness. Finished in white with a black vinyl seat, this Merlin is now offered by the selling dealer with a binder of build details, a certification document, manuals, Italian and French technical passports, and a bill of sale.
EXTERIOR – FEATURES
This one-off Merlin racecar is chassis number 1 and was raced in Italy by Team Pomozzi. It features a white exterior with decals and sponsorship livery. Equipment includes dual mirrors with black caps, a tubular roll cage, side air intakes, and a rear wing.
EXTERIOR – WHEELS AND TIRES
Aluminum 13-inch wheels with red centers and polished lips are wrapped in 195/530 front and 250/570 rear Avon tires.
INTERIOR – FEATURES
The single-seat cockpit is fitted with a black vinyl bucket seat with a Sabelt Steel Series S6222 Formula 2x2 FIA harness. An OMP mechanical fire suppression system has been installed.
INTERIOR – GAUGES
Instrumentation includes a digital instrument panel that shows the speed, revs, and voltage. The mileage on the chassis is unknown.
ENGINE AND TRANSMISSION
The Honda B16A2 1.6-liter inline-four was serviced in the summer of 2022; the work performed included a full inspection along with the addition of new Motul racing fluids and oils. Power is transferred to the rear wheels via a Hewland Engineering H9-3123 four-speed manual racing transmission and a 2.846:1 rear differential.
ADDITIONAL DETAILS
The sale includes a binder of build data, a certification document, manuals, and technical passports from both Italy and France. The selling dealer has provided a video showcasing the 2018 Coppa Ugo Barone race event in which the vehicle participated. As a dedicated race vehicle, this vehicle is not legal for street use and is sold on a bill of sale only.
