OVERVIEW
This rotisserie-restored 1965 Ford Mustang fastback restomod is powered by an electronically fuel-injected 408ci V8 mated to a C6 three-speed automatic transmission. Equipment includes a limited-slip rear end, power steering and disc brakes, air conditioning, a Bluetooth stereo, 17-inch Ridler wheels, and adjustable QA1 coilover suspension. Finished in metallic red with metallic gray stripes over a custom gray vinyl interior, this first-generation Mustang is now offered by the selling dealer with service records and a clear title.
EXTERIOR – FEATURES
The metallic red paint and gray stripes with “408” call-outs were applied during the 2020 rotisserie restoration. Other exterior features include new glass, fog lamps, dual mirrors, a 1966 Shelby-style hood scoop, and a custom H-pipe dual exhaust system with chrome outlets.
EXTERIOR – WHEELS AND TIRES
Polished aluminum 17-inch Ridler wheels are wrapped in radial tires.
INTERIOR – FEATURES
The interior is furnished with reupholstered gray vinyl low-back bucket seats up front, a two-place bench in the rear, and complementary door panels, dash, center console, headliner, and carpeting. Amenities include a leather-wrapped Billet Specialties steering wheel, Vintage Air heating and air conditioning, a Bluetooth-connected stereo system, cup holders, a B&M shifter, a Holley Sniper EFI control panel, power windows, and an upholstered/carpeted trunk.
INTERIOR – GAUGES
The Dakota Digital instrumentation includes a sweeping 120-mph speedometer, an 8,000-rpm tachometer, and auxiliary gauges for the fuel level, coolant temperature, oil pressure, and voltage. The selling dealer states that the true mileage on the vehicle is unknown.
ENGINE AND TRANSMISSION
The performance-built 408ci V8 with Holley Sniper electronic fuel injection was rated at 425 horsepower per the selling dealer. The engine bay features a dress-up kit, deleted shock towers, aluminum heads, ceramic-coated headers, a CVF Racing aluminum serpentine belt kit, an aluminum radiator with a transmission cooler and an electric fan, dual aluminum fuel lines, and a Holley Hyperspark distributor. Power is transferred to the rear wheels via a console-shifted C6 three-speed automatic transmission along with a Currie nine-inch Ford limited-slip rear end with 3.50:1 gears. Service was performed in February.
UNDERCARRIAGE
The underbody is coated in satin black. The body has been dropped three inches on adjustable QA1 coilovers. Handling hardware consists of an adjustable four-link suspension, TCI power rack-and-pinion steering, a chrome tubular front sway bar, a chrome drop-spindle assembly, chrome upper and lower control arms, and an adjustable performance crossbar. Stopping power comes from four-wheel Wilwood power-assisted disc brakes with 12-inch slotted and drilled rotors and multi-piston calipers.
