427-POWERED 1970 CHEVROLET CHEVELLE

OVERVIEW

This rotisserie-restored 1970 Chevrolet Chevelle restomod is powered by a White Performance 427ci stroker V8 backed by a 700R4 four-speed automatic transmission. Features include Holley Sniper fuel injection, a Borgeson power rack-and-pinion feel steering conversion, power windows, power Cadillac CTS bucket seats, a Vintage Air climate control system, and a Momo steering wheel. Additional features include a Sony AM/FM/Bluetooth stereo, Dakota Digital analog gauges, adjustable QA1 coilovers, four-wheel power disc brakes, and a rear four-link suspension with adjustable control arms. Finished in metallic blue with metallic charcoal stripes over a light blue leather interior, this Chevelle is available now and comes from the selling dealer with build records, a dyno printout, and a clear title.

EXTERIOR - FEATURES

During the rotisserie restoration completed in 2017, the reportedly original sheet metal was refinished in two-stage metallic blue paint with metallic charcoal stripes and treated with a ceramic coating. In addition, a new windshield and a new rear glass panel were installed. Exterior features include chrome bumpers, SS badging, a cowl-induction-style hood, dual mirrors, and bright wheel well and rocker panel trim.

EXTERIOR - WHEELS AND TIRES

A set of 18-inch U.S. Mags wheels with black spokes and silver lips is wrapped in Nitto NT555 Extreme tires.

INTERIOR – FEATURES

The Cadillac CTS front bucket seats are upholstered in light blue leather and the rear seat is upholstered in light blue Allante synthetic leather. Features include a Vintage Air climate control system; power steering and brakes; a center console with a B&M automatic shifter, a storage compartment, and cup holders; a Momo steering wheel with a black Italian leather grip; and a Sony AM/FM/CD/Bluetooth stereo.  

INTERIOR – GAUGES

A set of Dakota Digital gauges with analog readouts for the 160-mph speedometer, 8,000-rpm tachometer, fuel level, coolant temperature, oil pressure, and voltage is located ahead of the driver. The odometer reads 2,079 miles, which reflects the mileage accrued since the restoration was completed. The true mileage on this vehicle is unknown.

ENGINE AND TRANSMISSION

Power is provided by a White Performance 427ci stroker V8 and backed by a 700R4 four-speed automatic transmission that was built to handle 750 horsepower. The dynamometer printout in the gallery to the right shows the engine produces 631 horsepower and 574 lb-ft of torque on 93-octane gas and 653 horsepower and 603 lb-ft on 100-octane fuel. Engine bay features include a Dart SHP 4.155 block, Air Flow Research aluminum heads, an Eagle 4340 crankshaft with a four-inch stroke, Mahle flat-top pistons, a hydraulic roller camshaft, an Edelbrock single-plane intake manifold, a Holley Sniper fuel injection system, and ceramic-coated headers. Additional features include an RAB Performance parts serpentine belt engine accessory drive kit, a Wilwood big-bore master cylinder and proportioning valve, an aluminum radiator with a transmission cooler, a Holley Hyperspark distributor, an MSD electronic ignition, and a Holley coil. An oil change was completed in February.

UNDERCARRIAGE

This Chevelle is equipped with an independent front suspension and a solid rear drive axle. The suspension has been upgraded with QA1 tubular front control arms, QA1 coilovers with adjustable height and valving, a black powder-coated 1 3/8th-inch 4130 chromoly front sway bar, a Borgeson rack-and-pinion feel power steering conversion, and a QA1 four-link rear suspension with adjustable tubular control arms. Additional features include a high-performance rear sway bar, a 12-bolt Chevrolet rear axle with a new Eaton Positraction unit and 3.55:1 gears, a custom-built driveshaft, a three-inch suspension drop, and an EFI-compatible fuel tank. The underbody has been fully stripped and refinished with Raptor liner and satin black paint. Braking is provided by four-wheel power discs with 13-inch front and 12-inch rear drilled and slotted rotors. A custom three-inch X-pipe exhaust system exits at the rear.
