Vehicle Story

OVERVIEW

This 1937 Ford Deluxe custom woodie wagon is powered by a 383ci stroker V8 backed by a TH400 three-speed automatic transmission. Features include a custom oak wood body, power rack-and-pinion steering, power front disc brakes, an independent front suspension, a custom roof rack with surfboards, and 15-inch Ridler wheels. Finished in matte black with wood panels over a charcoal gray cloth interior, this Ford comes from the selling dealer with two surfboards and a clear title.

EXTERIOR – FEATURES

The body is finished in matte black and equipped with custom oak wood panels. Features include a chrome grille with a forward-tilting hood, chrome headlight buckets with integrated turn signals, wood hood accent trim, chrome hood latches, suicide doors, a black cloth roof, a custom roof rack with two surfboards, a custom fuel filler, a rear liftgate, a lower tailgate, a custom tube rear bumper, and custom taillights.

EXTERIOR WHEELS AND TIRES

A set of 15-inch polished aluminum Ridler wheels is wrapped in 215/60 Hercules Roadtour front and 255/70 Hercules H/P 4000 rear radial tires.

INTERIOR – FEATURES

The front bucket seats and the rear seat are upholstered in charcoal gray cloth. Features include power steering, black cloth door panels, a wood center console with cup holders, a floor-mounted B&M automatic shifter, wood interior trim, a three-spoke steering wheel with a wood grip, and a wood dashboard. Front door windows are not present.

 

INTERIOR – GAUGES

The set of analog Omega Klassic Instrument Co. gauges located ahead of the driver includes a 120-mph speedometer and readouts for the fuel level, coolant temperature, battery voltage, and oil pressure. The odometer reads 4,584 miles, which the selling dealer reports are the miles accrued since the custom build was completed.

 

ENGINE AND TRANSMISSION

Power is provided by a 383ci stroker V8 and backed by a TH400 three-speed automatic transmission. Engine bay features include aluminum valve covers, an Edelbrock four-barrel carburetor, an oval aluminum air cleaner, and tubular exhaust headers.

UNDERCARRIAGE

This Ford is equipped with an independent front suspension and a solid rear drive axle with an aluminum differential cover. Braking is provided by power front discs and rear drums. The exhaust exits from the headers and through a pair of side pipes.  

ADDITIONAL DETAILS

The selling dealer will include two surfboards with the sale.

As someone that has owned three Woodies in my time, the first was a ‘40 Ford in 1962, I don’t understand why people put roof racks on Woodies.
