OVERVIEW
This 1964 Chevrolet Corvair Monza convertible is powered by an air-cooled 164ci flat-six mated to a Powerglide two-speed automatic transaxle. Equipment includes an AM/FM/cassette radio, wire wheel covers, chrome brightwork, and a four-wheel independent suspension. Finished in yellow and equipped with a newer tan convertible top over a fawn vinyl interior, this first-generation Corvair comes from the selling dealer with a vinyl convertible boot, owner’s manuals, and a clear title.
EXTERIOR – FEATURES
The exterior was repainted yellow and equipped with a new tan manual soft top within the last five years. Exterior features include quad headlights, chrome brightwork, rocker moldings, Monza badging, an antenna, dual mirrors, and a louvered engine hood. The seller notes that the reverse lights do not work.
EXTERIOR – WHEELS AND TIRES
Steel 13-inch wheels with wire covers and bowtie-branded knock-off spinner caps are wrapped in 185/80 Maxxis MA-1 whitewall tires.
INTERIOR – FEATURES
The interior is fitted with fawn vinyl seating for both the front and rear, complemented by brown accents for the door panels, dash, and carpeting. Amenities include rubber floor mats, lap belts, ashtrays, and an aftermarket AM/FM/cassette radio.
INTERIOR – GAUGES
Instrumentation includes a 100-mph sweeping speedometer and a fuel gauge. The five-digit mechanical odometer reads 73,944 miles, but the true mileage on the chassis is unknown.
ENGINE AND TRANSMISSION
The air-cooled, carbureted 164ci Turbo-Air flat-six was rated at 110 horsepower and has received fresh fluids within the past year. A Maxxis MA-1 spare tire is mounted on the right side of the engine bay. Power is sent to the rear wheels via a column-shifted Powerglide two-speed automatic transaxle.
UNDERCARRIAGE
Stopping power comes from four-wheel manual drum brakes. Handling is aided by a four-wheel independent suspension.
ADDITIONAL DETAILS
The selling dealer has provided videos including a start-up, a walk-around, a driving demonstration, and a look at the underbody. The sale includes a vinyl convertible boot and owner’s manuals.
