OVERVIEW
This custom-built 1955 Chevrolet Nomad has received a frame-off restoration and has been modernized with fourth-generation Chevrolet Corvette-derived equipment such as a rebuilt 350cid V8 backed by a 700R4 four-speed automatic transmission, and four-wheel disc brakes. Features include 18-inch Tyfun chrome wheels, custom flooring, stainless-steel dash trim, and Mattson's radiator. Finished in Ruby Red metallic with Pearl White roof over a tan vinyl interior, this Nomad comes with a clear Missouri title in the seller’s name.
EXTERIOR – FEATURES
The Ruby Red metallic body and Pearl White roof was refinished during a frame-off restoration by Camaros Only in La Habra, California. Exterior features include chrome brightwork, dual side mirrors, bumper guards, hood ornament, and drop-down tailgate.
EXTERIOR – WHEELS AND TIRES
18-inch Tyfun 764 polished aluminum wheels are wrapped in staggered Nexen tires sized 245/40 (front) and 255/35 (rear).
INTERIOR – FEATURES
The refurbished interior is fitted with a two-tone tan and ivory vinyl, including matching materials for the door panels and carpeting. The dashboard is trimmed in stainless steel. Amenities include lap belts, Lokar pedals, and a Bowtie-branded symbol in the cargo area flooring.
INTERIOR – GAUGES
AutoMeter instrumentation includes speedometer and auxiliary gauges. The odometer reads 460 miles, although true mileage on the chassis is unknown.
ENGINE AND TRANSMISSION
The rebuilt 350cid V8 was originally sourced from a 1987 Chevrolet Corvette and has been consistently serviced per the seller each year. Upgrades include a Mattson's radiator, stainless steel exhaust system, and stainless steel 20-gallon fuel tank. Power is transferred to the rear wheels via a 700R4 four-speed automatic transmission.
UNDERCARRIAGE
The chassis has been modernized with Chevrolet Corvette front and rear ends along with four-wheel anti-lock disc brakes and ventilated rotors. Additional upgrades include Bilstein front shock absorbers, Monroe rear shock absorbers, and Corvette-sourced power rack and pinion steering.
