This 1942 Lincoln Continental is number 191 of 200 built-in its configuration prior to World War II. It was assembled January 13, 1942, shipped January 22, 1942, and has appeared in such movies as “The Majestic,” and “I’ll Remember April.” Power comes from a rebuilt "Flathead" Mercury V8 paired with a 3-speed automatic, and it is finished in navy blue over a blue cloth. This Continental is offered with extensive documentation from new and a clear Arizona title in the seller’s name.
A professional navy blue respray was applied in the 1990s, and it is complemented by a Continental kit consisting of side-spear accented taillamps, rear fender skirts, and extensive chrome trim. Minor paint chips are present per the seller.
Factory wheels with full chrome covers are wrapped by wide-whitewall tires.
The interior is trimmed in shades of blue and gray with light blue cloth over the bench seats, body-matching navy dash with chrome accents, and dark gray carpet. The two-spoke steering wheel is fitted with a chrome horn ring and center cap with the Lincoln insignia.
Instrumentation includes a 110-mph speedometer wrapped in a chrome bezel and gauges for fuel level and coolant temperature. The 5-digit mechanical odometer reads 31k miles, which are believed original to the vehicle per the seller, though cannot be confirmed.
Power is provided by a rebuilt "Flathead" V8 sourced from a later-model Mercury. The rebuild was completed within the last 1k miles and the carburetor was tuned in late 2020. Transfer of power to the rear wheels comes by way of a 3-speed automatic transmission. A small radiator leak is noted.
