OVERVIEW
This frame-off-restored 1967 Pontiac GTO convertible was professionally appraised at $89,850 in May 2023, according to the current owner. It has been with the seller for 28 years and is powered by a rebuilt 400cid V8 backed by an upgraded Muncie four-speed manual overdrive transmission. Features include a front bench seat, a Custom Autosound AM/FM radio, an updated Yukon Gear Positraction assembly, and power steering. Finished in Linden Green and equipped with a black power convertible top over a black vinyl interior, this garage-kept GTO comes with Pontiac Historic Services documentation, receipts and records from the restoration, the original three-speed manual transmission, and a clear title in the seller's name.
EXTERIOR – FEATURES
During the frame-off restoration in 2005, the exterior was refinished in the original color of Linden Green (code H). Features include chrome bumpers, a hood scoop, black side stripes, rocker and wheel well moldings, a fender-mounted antenna, a power black convertible top, and rear body trim. The seller notes there are very minor blemishes in the paint.
EXTERIOR - WHEELS AND TIRES
A set of black steel wheels with Pontiac Motor Division (PMD) dog dish center caps is wrapped in Coker Firestone Wide Oval redline radial tires.
INTERIOR – FEATURES
The front bench seat, rear seat, trim, and door panels are upholstered in black vinyl. Features include a floor-mounted manual transmission shifter, power steering, manual windows, a black dashboard with a black top pad, and a Custom Autosound AM/FM radio with a factory-style faceplate.
INTERIOR – GAUGES
A 120-mph speedometer and a fuel level gauge are located ahead of the driver. With 8,174 miles added during the seller's 28-year ownership, the odometer reads 8,174 miles. The true mileage on the chassis is unknown.
ENGINE AND TRANSMISSION
Power is provided by the reportedly original 400cid V8 and backed by an upgraded Muncie four-speed manual transmission equipped with an overdrive gearset. Engine bay features include chrome valve covers and a chrome air cleaner. According to the seller, the engine was rebuilt and given an oil change in 2022.
UNDERCARRIAGE
This GTO was factory-equipped with an independent front suspension and a solid rear drive axle. Braking is provided by manual four-wheel drums. A dual exhaust system exits at the rear. The original 3.55:1 rear end has been updated to a Yukon Gear Positraction unit with 3.23:1 gears. A rear stabilizer bar was installed in 2023.
ADDITIONAL DETAILS
The seller will include receipts and records from the restoration, a full documentation package from Pontiac Historic Services, and the original three-speed manual transmission with the purchase of the car.
