OVERVIEW
This 1965 Pontiac LeMans convertible is the product of a rotisserie restoration completed in 2019 and has been driven less than 2,000 miles since then. It resided with its previous owner since 1969 and is powered by an upgraded LS2 6.0-liter V8 mated to a 4L80-E four-speed automatic transmission. Upgrades include four-wheel power disc brakes, Vintage Air air conditioning, a $15,000 custom interior, an air suspension, Hedman headers, and a dual exhaust system. Finished in Cyber Gray and equipped with a black cloth retractable top over a black and gray leather interior, this Pontiac is offered by the selling dealer with a convertible top boot, build documentation, and a clear title.
EXTERIOR – FEATURES
The exterior was resprayed in a Chevrolet Corvette color called Cyber Gray during a 10-year rotisserie restoration completed in 2019. Features include quad stacked headlights, GTO badging, chrome bumpers, rocker moldings, a dual-scoop hood with Ring Brothers hinges, side mirrors, sequential taillights, a black convertible top with a glass rear window, and a dual exhaust system with polished rectangular outlets.
EXTERIOR – WHEELS AND TIRES
Chrome 17-inch split-spoke Foose wheels are wrapped in 215/50 front and 235/55 rear Nitto Motivo Z-rated tires.
INTERIOR – FEATURES
The interior was reportedly refurbished at a $15,000 expense and has been furnished with two-tone black and perforated gray leather bucket seats up front, a bench in the rear, and matching door panels along with a center console. Amenities include a custom retro-look audio system, a Grant steering wheel, an Ididit steering column, a B&M ratchet shifter, newer wiring, lap belts, an upholstered trunk with an embossed GTO logo, and sound-deadening material throughout. A Vintage Air climate control system has been incorporated, but the selling dealer notes that the air conditioning needs a recharge.
INTERIOR – GAUGES
A Dakota Digital instrument cluster with a GPS-driven 160-mph speedometer, an 8,000-rpm tachometer, and gauges for the coolant temperature, fuel level, oil pressure, and coolant temperature replaces the factory instruments. The digital odometer reads 1,779 miles, although the true mileage on the chassis is unknown.
ENGINE AND TRANSMISSION
The LS2 6.0-liter V8 has accrued fewer than 2,000 miles since the restoration was completed. It features LS3 heads, a 2011 Chevrolet Camaro fuel injection system, stepped Hedman headers, and chrome dress-up components. Output is an estimated 500 horsepower per the selling dealer. An oil change was performed in early 2023. Power is delivered to the rear wheels via a console-shifted 4L80-E four-speed automatic transmission with a 3,800-rpm stall converter via an aluminum driveshaft and an Auburn Gear Pro Series limited-slip rear end with 3.38:1 Richmond Gear gearing.
UNDERCARRIAGE
The frame has been powder-coated and the body rides on an air suspension with tubular A-arms and two-inch drop spindles. Stopping power comes from four-wheel power disc brakes with stainless steel lines.
ADDITIONAL DETAILS
Build documentation and a convertible top boot will come with the car. The dealer has provided a video showing the exterior, engine bay, and interior with the engine running.
