OVERVIEW
This restored 1956 Hudson Hornet Hollywood is one of 1,053 produced for its model year and is powered by a Packard 352cid V8 backed by an Ultramatic two-speed automatic transmission. Features include power steering, power brakes, a continental kit, reclining front seats, and a rear center armrest. Finished in Bermuda Green and Polo Green over Forsyth Dark Green cloth and Light Green leather interior, this Hudson comes from the selling dealer with a reprinted owner's manual, a shop manual, and a clear title.
EXTERIOR – FEATURES
The exterior was refinished in Bermuda Green and Polo Green during a prior restoration. Features include chrome bumpers, full-length side trim, a chrome grille, gold accent emblems and side panels, a roof-mounted antenna, and a continental kit. Cosmetic blemishes are shown in the gallery to the right.
EXTERIOR - WHEELS AND TIRES
A set of green 15-inch wheels with full hubcaps is wrapped in older 6.70-15 Firestone whitewall bias-ply tires.
INTERIOR – FEATURES
The reclining front split-bench seat and the rear seat, which comes equipped with a table-top center armrest, are upholstered in Forsyth Dark Green cloth and Light Green leather (code 683). Features include manual windows, power steering, a column-mounted automatic transmission shifter, and an AM radio. According to the selling dealer, the left rear window does not roll down.
INTERIOR – GAUGES
A 120-mph speedometer and gauges for the fuel level and coolant temperature are located ahead of the driver. The nonfunctional odometer reads 59,886 miles. The true mileage on this vehicle is unknown.
ENGINE AND TRANSMISSION
Power is provided by a Packard two-barrel 352cid V8 and backed by an Ultramatic two-speed automatic transmission. Service in June 2023 included a tune-up, an oil change, and the installation of an electric fuel pump.
UNDERCARRIAGE
This car was factory-equipped with an independent front suspension and a solid rear drive axle. Braking is provided by power four-wheel drums. A single exhaust outlet exits at the rear.
