This 1956 Mercury Montclair hardtop coupe is an older restoration finished in two-tone Classic White over Persimmon. Power comes from a 312ci V8 paired with a three-speed Merc-O-Matic automatic transmission, and it presents with a two-tone vinyl interior, rear fender skirts, power steering, a Continental kit, and dual exhaust with glass pack mufflers. This Montclair is now offered by the selling dealer with a clean California title.
The exterior was refinished in its factory original ‘Flo-tone’ Classic White over Persimmon. It is equipped with chrome beltline trim, dual side-view mirrors, rear fender skirts, and a Continental kit. The chrome bumpers and trim were re-chromed during the restoration; the paint and trim are shown up close in the photo gallery.
The 15″ body-colored steel wheels wear stainless Mercury covers and whitewall tires. A spare tire is housed in the trunk, and the car retains the factory spec four-wheel drum brakes.
The restored interior features two-tone vinyl upholstery with matching dashboard and door panels, carpeting, and front and rear seatbelts. Options include a heater and defroster, tinted glass, power steering, padded instrument panel, and an electric clock.
A white steering wheel with a chromed horn ring fronts a stacked gauge cluster housing a 120-mph speedometer. The five-digit odometer shows approximately 63,740 miles; true mileage is unknown. Instrumentation for oil pressure and water temperature has been installed under the dash, and a factory signal seeking Town and Country AM radio is fitted.
The 312ci V8 was factory rated at 210 horsepower at 4,600 rpm when new and features a 4 barrel carburetor. Shifting is through a 3-speed Merc-O-Matic automatic transmission. Both the engine and transmission were rebuilt during the restoration.
A dual exhaust system with glass pack mufflers is equipped while undercoating has been applied to the chassis and floorplans. Additional photos of the undercarriage can be seen in the gallery.

In answer to the posted questions: We can arrange to have a video made of the car running and will post it to our youtube page which can be viewed via the link on our website. It is a 12 volt system We do not have the history on when the restoration was completed. All the dash instrumentation is functioning including the radio etc. Thanks for everyone's interest

Are there any videos of the car running? Is it a 12 volt system? Thanks in advance for your response.

Any idea on approximate date of restoration? Added under dash instruments for water & oil? Does that mean in dash instruments do not work? Radio, heater, turn signals, horn? Any items that don’t work and/or cosmetic blemishes? Thanks in advance for your response.
