OVERVIEW
This 1965 Ford Mustang coupe has undergone a restoration under previous ownership. Powering this Mustang is a performance-upgraded 289cid V8 engine, which has been enhanced with upgrades such as an Edelbrock 600cfm carburetor, a Weiand intake, a Competition camshaft, and a heavy-duty clutch. The exterior is finished in Vermilion, while the interior features black vinyl upholstery. This first-generation Mustang is now available from the selling dealer and comes with a clear title.
EXTERIOR – FEATURES
This Mustang features a hardtop layout, with the body having been refinished in Vermilion by the previous owner. According to the selling dealer, there are some blemishes such as paint chips. Additionally, there is a crack in the paint on the leading edge of the roof on the driver's side. The car is adorned with chrome brightwork, "289" fender badging, dual mirrors, and white accent rocker striping. Completing the look is a dual exhaust system with polished finishers.
EXTERIOR – WHEELS AND TIRES
The vehicle is fitted with American Racing Outlaw aluminum wheels. These wheels are complemented by Cooper Cobra Radial G/T raised-white-letter tires, which have 2019 date codes.
INTERIOR – FEATURES
The cabin of this vehicle features black vinyl bucket seats up front and a bench in the rear. The seats are matched to the door panels, dash, and carpeting. Additional amenities include a custom center console, red carpeted floor mats, pedal covers, lap belts, a Panasonic DP202 AM/FM/CD radio, and a vinyl-lined trunk with a spare tire. The selling dealer has noted a rattle in the heater blower.
INTERIOR – GAUGES
The instrument cluster includes a 120-mph speedometer, fuel gauge, column-mounted AutoMeter 8,000-rpm tachometer, and an under-dash AutoMeter oil pressure gauge. The mechanical odometer has a five-digit display that currently reads 12,920 miles. The selling dealer notes that the true mileage on the chassis is unknown.
ENGINE AND TRANSMISSION
The 289cid V8 has been equipped with enhancements inspired by the Mustang Cobra, as stated by the selling dealer. These modifications include an Edelbrock 600cfm four-barrel carburetor, a Weiand intake, Cobra-branded valve covers, stainless steel valves, flat-top pistons, a competition camshaft and gear drive timing, and a heavy-duty clutch and pressure plate. Engine power is transmitted to the rear wheels through a floor-shifted four-speed manual transmission.
UNDERCARRIAGE
The vehicle has a braking system with dual lines. The selling dealer has mentioned the absence of structural rust.
Picture #65 shows something up against the drive shaft at the U-Joint. What is that and hope not an emergency brake line.

@jerry19685 – Lights, signals, wipers all work ? Disc or drum brakes ? Gear ratio rear-end (if known). Appreciate your time. Respectfully, Jerry ...
Hi, Jerry: the wipers, horn, turn signals, brake lights, license lights, parking lights, and headlights all worked when we tested them on 6/20/23, the back up lights do not. The brakes are 2-line drum. I'm sorry, but we do not know the rear end ratio. Thanks for asking about the safety features, and, speaking of safety features, this car has seatbelts.
