Vehicle Story

OVERVIEW

This restored 1956 Ford F-100 is powered by a rebuilt Ford 351cid V8 backed by a C4 three-speed automatic transmission. Features include a Vintage Air climate control system with air conditioning, power steering and windows, power front disc brakes, a tilt steering column, a wood bed floor, Dolphin analog gauges, and a Plymouth Volare independent front suspension conversion. Finished in GM's Redfire Metallic over a caramel leather and microfiber interior, this F-100 comes with a clear title in the seller's name.

EXTERIOR – FEATURES

Originally finished in red, the steel body was refinished in GM's Redfire Metallic during the restoration completed in 2018. Features include chrome bumpers, a chrome grille, dual mirrors, a short step-side pickup box with a wood floor, hidden tailgate locks, and a bed-mounted fuel filler cap. The seller states that a minor chip can be seen on the bottom inside edge of the hood.

EXTERIOR - WHEELS AND TIRES

The 17-inch front and 20-inch rear Boyd Coddington wheels are wrapped in 235/50R17 Bridgestone Potenza radial tires in the front and 235/45R20 Bridgestone Dueler H/P radial tires in the rear.

INTERIOR – FEATURES

The custom bench seat and door panels are upholstered in caramel leather with microfiber inserts. Features include power windows, power steering, a polished tilt steering column-mounted automatic transmission shifter, a Lecarra steering wheel with a wood rim, a Vintage Air climate control system with air conditioning, a custom floor-mounted center console with cup holders, and body-color accents.

INTERIOR – GAUGES

A set of Dolphin gauges that include a 140-mph speedometer and readouts for the fuel level, coolant temperature, oil pressure, and voltage are located in a polished aluminum panel ahead of the driver. The odometer reads 2,100 miles, which the seller reports to be accurate. The true mileage on the chassis is unknown.

ENGINE AND TRANSMISSION

Power is provided by a rebuilt Ford 351cid V8 and backed by a C4 three-speed automatic transmission. Engine bay features include a mild camshaft, a polished Edelbrock Performer RPM Air-Gap intake manifold, an aluminum Ford Racing air cleaner, polished Ford Racing aluminum valve covers, polished spark plug wire separators, a chrome alternator, a Ford F-150 serpentine belt accessory drive system, a Champion radiator, and tube headers. Recent maintenance includes the calibration of the carburetor and a tune-up in 2022 and the installation of a new battery in 2023.

UNDERCARRIAGE

The chassis has been modified to accept a Plymouth Volare independent front suspension and a solid Ford nine-inch rear axle with 3.50:1 gears. Braking is provided by power front discs and rear drums. A full-length dual exhaust system exits at the rear.

Add on, when driving, does the trans shift smoothly and you hear no winding at higher speeds 70mph. She doesn't overheat after 3-4 hours or less of strait highway driving at normal speeds?

Does the truck drive smoothly as in suspension? Any leaks coming from ANY WHERE rear, trans, motor and all attaching components, cooling & AC system. Does the truck run strait and true? Alignment is good? No strage sounds from anywhere while driving on the interstate? I just seen your truck and my dad loves it and being in SC doesn't allow me much time to do anything else but drill you with questions. Is the paint in perfect condition other than those two touch ups you had mentioned? Do all the gauges and lights and signals work properly? No corrosion on the truck anywhere that I could see on the pictures, is there? All the glass good? All glass & door seals good with no leaks? The 351, is it a Windsor or Cleveland? And you mentioned a cam, sounds like your not to sure whats in the motor but I imagine its quite peppy and has a got throaty sound. Thanks and I hope I have enough time.
