The Azure Aqua exterior features chrome bumpers, a fender-mounted antenna, a front fuel tank, a driver-side mirror, rocker and wheel well trim, and a vented rear engine cover. A walk-around video can be seen below.
EXTERIOR - WHEELS AND TIRES
A set of black wheels with wire hub caps is wrapped in P195/70/R13 whitewall radial tires.
INTERIOR – FEATURES
The front bucket seats, rear seat, trim, and door panels are upholstered in black vinyl. Features include manual steering and brakes, manual windows, and an AM/FM radio.
INTERIOR – GAUGES
A 100-mph speedometer and a fuel gauge are mounted ahead of the driver. The odometer reads 81,787 miles, but the true mileage on this vehicle is unknown.
ENGINE AND TRANSMISSION
Power is provided by a rear-mounted, air-cooled 164cid flat six-cylinder mated to a pair of one-barrel carburetors and a Powerglide two-speed automatic transaxle.
UNDERCARRIAGE
This Corvair was factory-equipped with a four-wheel independent suspension and a rear drive transaxle. Braking is provided by manual four-wheel drums. A single exhaust system exits at the rear.
ADDITIONAL DETAILS
This Corvair was previously sold on AutoHunter, but it is being relisted after the buyer backed out of the transaction through no fault of the selling dealer. A $145 dealer fee/tax will be added to the purchase price. The selling dealer will collect additional registration/sales tax from in-state buyers.
This is deceptive advertising! NOT a SPYDER. I owned a 1964 Monza Spyder and belonged to a Spyder club. The dash is not correct because there are no tach or boost gauge. The engine is wrong and missing the turbocharger. The exhaust is also wrong.

@Dross1947 – Hp power? 900 model? Running condition. AC ? ...
Not sure what the current hp is since we haven’t had the car on a dyno. No a/c on it either. Car runs, drives and stops as it should. Nice running old car!

By the way, if ascertaining the correctness of the VIN is essential, there is a VIN stamping on the frame partially hidden by the shock tower on the passenger side. That will confirm if the VIN is correct for the car. HOWEVER, regardless of whether or not that proves to show a 40SIX, this Corvair is, essentially, a Monza. Personally, I think folks put way too much emphasis on VINs for Corvairs. And equally, too much emphasis on block numbers. Corvairs get cobbled together all the time and that should not detract from their value or enjoyment. This is a nice looking '64 Monza and should be treated as such. But not as a Spyder.
Numbers are easy to get wrong on a title. I think a picture of the VIN tag from the door jamb would be appropriate. As previously pointed out, though, even that might be bogus. Fact is, as it stands, this is a very good looking '64 Corvair that 99% of the folks out there would call a Monza, certainly not a Spyder, regardless of what the title or VIN tag says. Spyders sell for a premium, and that is based on the car having a turbo, stick, and Spyder dashboard. Representing this one as a Spyder is a tad disingenuous, I think, notwithstanding what the title or VIN says.
yes, for 1964 only, the 406 in the VIN means a Spyder. However, the car has been modified to 'ordinary' Monza configuration. 'Spyders' are equipped with turbocharger, manual trans, and a unique instrumentation dash. Nobody collecting one of these things would call this one a Spyder, regardless of the VIN. It's as likely that the vin is phony as it is that someone went thru the pain of de-Spyderizing this car to become a Monza.

@dicksanderson – Thanks for replying. The car looks very nice, but is and was never a Spyder. Who would: . swap the engine . swap the guages and dash . change to an automatic trans . take OFF the 'Spyder' badges And, more. ...
The Spyder designation is denoted in the VIN, not sure why someone made those choices while restoring the car but that's the way it is.
@Ellingson – The VIN starts with "406." 4 being for 1964, 06 denoting it was born as a Monza Spyder. ...
