1968 FORD GALAXIE 500 CONVERTIBLE

OVERVIEW

This restored 1968 Ford Galaxie 500 convertible is powered by the reportedly original 390cid V8 backed by a three-speed automatic transmission. EXTERIOR – FEATURES

During the restoration, the exterior was refinished in Wimbledon White. Features include chrome bumpers, a fender-mounted antenna, a shaded windshield, a driver-side mirror, a power convertible top, and NOS (new old stock) Galaxie 500 XL trunk trim. The selling dealer states that the passenger-side lower rocker molding is missing.

EXTERIOR - WHEELS AND TIRES

A set of 15-inch Superior Industries slotted chrome wheels is wrapped in 235/60R15 front and 235/60R15 rear Riken MR-GT radial tires.

INTERIOR – FEATURES

The front bench seat and the rear seat have been reupholstered in light blue vinyl. Features include a new carpeting kit, new door panels, power steering, manual windows, a column-mounted automatic transmission shifter, an AM radio, and woodgrain trim.

INTERIOR – GAUGES

A 120-mph speedometer and a fuel gauge are located ahead of the driver. The odometer reads 70,655 miles, which the selling dealer reports to be accurate.

ENGINE AND TRANSMISSION

Power is provided by the reportedly original 390cid V8 and backed by a three-speed automatic transmission. Engine bay features include chrome valve covers and a chrome air cleaner. A safety inspection was recently completed.

UNDERCARRIAGE

This Galaxie is factory-equipped with an independent front suspension and a solid rear drive axle. Braking is provided by power four-wheel drums. A dual exhaust system exits at the rear.
