Vehicle Story

OVERVIEW

This restored 1968 Pontiac GTO is powered by a 400cid V8 engine backed by a new five-speed manual transmission. Features include power steering and brakes, an Endura front bumper, a rear spoiler, a Formula steering wheel, hide-a-way headlights, a hood-mounted tachometer, a center console, and bucket seats. Finished in red over black vinyl interior, this rust-free GTO is available now and comes with a clear title.

EXTERIOR – FEATURES

During the restoration in July 2023, the exterior was finished in red. Features include a color-keyed Endura front bumper, hood scoops, a hood-mounted tachometer, dual rear view mirrors, hide-a-way headlights, GTO decals, and a rear spoiler. The seller states that minor cosmetic issues are present.

EXTERIOR - WHEELS AND TIRES

A set of new chrome Pontiac Rally II wheels is wrapped in new 215/70/R15 radial tires with Kenda Kenetica Touring A/S in front and new 275/60/R15 Cooper Cobra G/T in the rear.

INTERIOR – FEATURES

The front bucket seats, the rear seat, trim, and door panels are upholstered in black vinyl. Features include manual windows, power steering, a center console-mounted manual transmission shifter, a three-spoke Formula steering wheel with a black grip, and wood grain trim.

INTERIOR – GAUGES

A 120-mph speedometer, a clock, and a fuel gauge are mounted ahead of the driver. A set of three gauges for water temperature, oil pressure, and voltage are mounted under the dashboard. The odometer reads 11,000 miles but the true mileage on this vehicle is unknown.

ENGINE AND TRANSMISSION

Power is provided by a 400cid V8 engine backed by a new five-speed manual transmission. Engine bay features include black Pontiac valve covers, and a K&N air filter. A new radiator and fan, headers, and battery have been installed.

UNDERCARRIAGE

This Pontiac is factory-equipped with an independent front suspension and a solid rear drive axle. Braking is provided by power brakes. A dual exhaust system exits at the rear. Photos do show damage to the left rear quarter panel.

@Kiggins1 – How would it be considered restored if the quarter panel is rippled, front bumper/fenders are not aligned properly. I expect better from Auto Hunter! ...
