OVERVIEW
This 1963 Ford Fairlane 500 has logged only 120 miles since being rebuilt and is powered by a 514cid big-block Ford V8 connected to a NOS (Nitrous Oxide Systems) Pro-Shot Fogger system and a Powerglide two-speed automatic transmission with a transbrake. Features include a lift-off fiberglass hood, bucket seats, rear wheel tubs, a fuel cell, and line lock. Additional features include manual Wilwood disc brakes, a Mustang II-style independent front suspension with tubular control arms, manual rack-and-pinion steering, and Billet Specialties wheels. Finished in metallic teal over a black vinyl interior, this Fairlane comes with build documentation and specifications and a clear title in the seller's name.
EXTERIOR – FEATURES
The body has been refinished in metallic teal. Features include body-color bumpers, a black grille, a lift-off race-weight teardrop fiberglass hood that is attached with Dzus fasteners, dual mirrors, body-color trim, and body-color taillight housings. EXTERIOR - WHEELS AND TIRES
A set of polished aluminum Billet Specialities five-spoke wheels is wrapped in staggered-width Mickey Thompson radial tires.
INTERIOR – FEATURES
The front bucket seats and the rear seat are upholstered in black vinyl with teal Ford Motorsport logos. Features include manual windows and steering, a floor-mounted automatic transmission shifter, body-color trim, and a trunk-mounted aluminum fuel cell, battery, and nitrous bottle.
INTERIOR – GAUGES
Instrumentation includes a 110-mph speedometer, fuel and coolant temperature gauges, and warning lights for various systems. A 9,000-rpm AutoMeter tachometer is mounted on top of the dashboard and a set of three accessory gauges for the oil pressure, coolant temperature, and nitrous pressure is located under it. The odometer reads 76,124 miles, but the true mileage on this vehicle is unknown.
ENGINE AND TRANSMISSION
Power is provided by a 514cid big-block stroker V8 connected to a NOS (Nitrous Oxide Systems) Pro-Shot Fogger system and a Powerglide two-speed automatic transmission with a transbrake. According to the seller, the engine runs on pump gas. Engine features include Edelbrock aluminum heads, Ford Racing aluminum valve covers, a mild camshaft, an aluminum intake manifold, an MSD distributor and coil, a four-barrel carburetor, and a K&N air filter. Engine bay features include shaved original front suspension towers, an aluminum radiator with an electric fan, and a Wilwood brake master cylinder.
UNDERCARRIAGE
This Fairlane is equipped with an independent Mustang II-style front suspension assembly, manual rack-and-pinion steering, and a narrowed Ford nine-inch solid rear drive axle mounted with mono leaf springs and bolt-on tubular traction bars. Braking is provided by manual Wilwood 10.5-inch drilled disc brakes with line lock. A dual exhaust system exits ahead of the rear axle.
