468-POWERED 1968 CHEVROLET CHEVELLE MALIBU SPORT COUPE

OVERVIEW

This rotisserie-restored 1968 Chevrolet Chevelle Malibu Sport Coupe receives power from a performance-built 468cid big-block V8 mated to a TH350 three-speed automatic transmission. Features include power front disc brakes, Vintage Air climate control, power steering, Edelbrock intake components, and a Ridetech air suspension. Finished in red over a black vinyl interior, this custom second-generation Chevelle is now offered by the selling dealer with build documentation and a clear title.

EXTERIOR – FEATURES

The exterior was resprayed red during the restoration. Features include quad headlights, chrome bumpers, SS 396 badging, a driver-side mirror, black accent striping, rocker panel moldings, LED taillights, and a dual exhaust system.

EXTERIOR – WHEELS AND TIRES

American Racing chrome 17-inch five-spoke wheels are wrapped in new Raptor tires.

INTERIOR – FEATURES

The cabin is fitted with black vinyl fold-forward bucket seats up front, a bench in the rear, and matching furnishings for the door panels, dash, center console, headliner, and carpeting. Features include power steering, embroidered floor mats, a Bluetooth-equipped AM/FM/CD sound system, a Vintage Air climate control system with air conditioning, an SS-branded steering wheel, manual-crank windows, and a trunk-mounted spare tire.

INTERIOR – GAUGES

Modern instrumentation from Dakota Digital includes a speedometer along with auxiliary gauges for vehicle vitals. The replacement odometer reads 1,234 miles, but the actual mileage on the chassis is unknown.

ENGINE AND TRANSMISSION

The 468cid big-block V8 was custom-built by Knoepfler Chevrolet and Harry Heads & Auto Machine in Sioux City, Iowa. It is equipped with a built bottom end, a COMP Cams roller camshaft, Edelbrock aluminum heads, an Edelbrock aluminum intake, an HEI ignition system, Hooker long tube headers, and a chrome-finished air cleaner. Power is transferred to the back wheels via a console-shifted TH350 three-speed automatic transmission and a 10-bolt Positraction rear end.

UNDERCARRIAGE

Stopping power comes from power-assisted disc brakes up front and drums in the rear. Underpinnings are comprised of a Ridetech four-corner air suspension. The underside has been repainted.
