1965 PONTIAC GTO HARDTOP 4-SPEED

OVERVIEW

This 1965 Pontiac GTO Hardtop is powered by a 389cid V8 backed by a four-speed manual transmission. Features include power steering and brakes, a Delco AM/FM stereo with a rear speaker, and a rear window defroster. New parts include the Year One interior, clutch, dual exhaust system, windshield, gas tank, master cylinder, and Eibach springs. Finished in Nightwatch Blue over a black vinyl interior, this GTO comes with PHS Automotive Services documentation, the removed original hubcaps and springs, new door seals, and a clear title in the seller's name.

EXTERIOR – FEATURES

The exterior is finished in the original color of Nightwatch Blue (code E) and shows a natural patina. Features include chrome bumpers, a hood scoop, dual mirrors, a new windshield, wheel opening and rocker trim, and a rear antenna.

EXTERIOR - WHEELS AND TIRES

A set of 15-inch chrome steel wheels with baby moon hubcaps is wrapped in 215/75R15 Republic Ensign radial tires.

INTERIOR – FEATURES

The new black vinyl Year One interior was installed after rust in the floors was repaired and features front bucket seats, a rear bench seat, and matching trim and door panels. Features include manual windows, power steering, a Delco AM/FM stereo with a rear speaker, a rear window defroster blower, a center console-mounted manual transmission shifter, a wood-rimmed steering wheel, and woodgrain accents. 

INTERIOR – GAUGES

A 120-mph speedometer, a 7,000-rpm tachometer with a Pontiac logo, and a fuel gauge are located ahead of the driver. A set of Stewart Warner gauges that show the vacuum, amps, and water temperature is located under the dashboard. With 100 miles added during the seller's five-year ownership, the odometer reads 62,283 miles, which the seller reports to be accurate.

ENGINE AND TRANSMISSION

Power is provided by the reportedly original 389cid V8 and backed by a four-speed manual transmission with a new clutch and a Safe-T-Track rear end. Engine bay features include chrome valve covers, a chrome air cleaner, the original rebuilt radiator, and a four-barrel Rochester carburetor. An oil change was completed and a new master cylinder was installed in August 2023.

UNDERCARRIAGE

This GTO has been lowered two inches on Eibach springs. Braking is provided by power four-wheel drums, which the seller states need to be adjusted regularly. The new dual exhaust system exits at the rear. A new fuel tank has been installed.
