1990 Ford Mustang LX 5.0 Hatchback

OVERVIEW

This modified 1990 Ford Mustang LX hatchback has been upgraded with an MSD distributor, a B&M shifter, an aluminum driveshaft, a cold air induction system, and Cobra-style 17-inch wheels. It is powered by a 5.0-liter V8 mated to an upgraded replacement four-speed AOD automatic transmission and has been Florida-owned since new. Finished in Oxford White over a gray vinyl and charcoal cloth interior, this garage-kept Fox Body Mustang is now offered with a clean CARFAX report and a clear title.

EXTERIOR – FEATURES

The Oxford White exterior has custom pinstriping. The cowl and door trim components have been refinished in gloss black. Features include smoked headlight covers, a hood bra, hood retention pins, black and red bodyside moldings, door edge guards, a rear spoiler, and a stage 2 Flowmaster exhaust system. There are some small scratches that have been touched up per the seller.

EXTERIOR – WHEELS AND TIRES

Black Cobra-style American Muscle 17-inch five-spoke wheels are wrapped in 245/45 Sumitomo tires.

INTERIOR – FEATURES

The interior is fitted with gray vinyl and charcoal cloth bucket seats up front and a two-passenger bench in the rear; that same color theme continues to the door panels, lower dash, and carpeting. ENGINE AND TRANSMISSION

The high-output 5.0-liter V8 has been enhanced with equipment that includes a three-core radiator with electric fans, an MSD distributor, a 3,000-rpm stall converter, headers, a performance camshaft, a cold-air induction system, a 75-mm mass air flow meter, underdrive pulleys, an Accel coil pack, Taylor Cable wires, a 130-amp voltage regulator, and a Casper's Electronics TPS throttle enhancer. Work performed under the seller’s ownership includes a recent oil change and the replacement of the motor mounts, coils, and throttle body. Power is fed to the back wheels via a stage 1 replacement four-speed AOD automatic transmission, an aluminum 28-spline driveshaft, and a 4.10:1 rear end.

UNDERCARRIAGE

The front end has been rebuilt and has a new rack-and-pinion steering rack along with a new power steering pump. The suspension has newer upper and lower rear control arms as well as new shock absorbers at all four corners. Stopping comes from power front disc brakes with newer slotted rotors and high-performance pads, and rear drums.
