OVERVIEW
This custom 1946 Ford pickup is powered by a Chevrolet 350cid V8 backed by a TH350 three-speed automatic transmission. Features include a Mustang II-style independent front suspension, power rack-and-pinion steering, air conditioning, front disc brakes, and Ridetech coil-overs. Finished in red over a black vinyl interior, this Ford truck comes from the selling dealer with a clear title.
EXTERIOR – FEATURES
During the custom build, the body was finished in red. Features include chrome bumpers, chrome grille trim, white accent stripes, color-matched running boards, a cowl-mounted antenna, dual mirrors, a side-mounted spare tire, a long stepside pickup box, a black vinyl tonneau cover, and blue-dot taillights.
EXTERIOR - WHEELS AND TIRES
A set of red steel wheels with chrome rims and chrome baby moon hub caps is wrapped in radial tires.
INTERIOR – FEATURES
The bench seat is upholstered in black vinyl. Features include manual windows, power steering, air conditioning, a floor-mounted automatic transmission shifter, a black vinyl floor mat, and red metal trim.
INTERIOR – GAUGES
A Classic Instruments 120-mph speedometer and matching gauges for the fuel level, voltage, water temperature, and oil pressure are located ahead of the driver. An 8,000-rpm tachometer is mounted to the top of the dashboard. The odometer reads 14,619 miles, but the true mileage on this vehicle is unknown.
ENGINE AND TRANSMISSION
Power is provided by a Chevrolet 350cid V8 and backed by a TH350 three-speed automatic transmission. Engine bay features include chrome valve covers, an aluminum intake manifold, a four-barrel carburetor with an electric choke, a chrome air cleaner, a polished alternator and air conditioning compressor, and a polished firewall and inner fenders.
UNDERCARRIAGE
The frame has been modified to accept a Mustang II-style independent front suspension with tubular control arms, power rack-and-pinion steering, and Ridetech coil-over shocks. The solid 12-bolt rear drive axle is mounted with leaf springs. Braking is provided by manual front discs and rear drums. A dual exhaust system exits ahead of the rear wheels.
