This 1969 Chevrolet Camaro Z/28 is finished in Daytona Yellow with a black interior and black vinyl top and has undergone a frame-off restoration in 2015. A genuine Z/28, this Camaro carries its original, matching-numbers 302ci V8 paired with a 4-speed manual transmission. All major mechanical components are original to the vehicle, including the engine, transmission, rear end, and many others. This Norwood built Camaro is now offered by the selling dealer with the original Protect-O-Plate, Certification by Jerry MacNiesh of Camaro High-Performance, a Certificate of Authenticity by the Nickey Registry, and a clean California title.
The body is finished in its original color of Daytona Yellow (code 76) with black stripes and features a vinyl top in black and a front air dam. The grille is finished in the correct shade of Argent Silver, and all glass is in excellent condition with no chips or cracks. Additional options include a cowl induction hood and rear decklid spoiler. The bumpers, trim, and brightwork were all addressed during the restoration.
Silver painted 15” x 7” Rally wheels with polished trim rings, and center caps are wrapped in BF Goodrich Wide Tread GT tires at all four corners. Power-assisted disc brakes provide stopping power in the front with drums in the rear.
Ordered new with the Z21 interior option, this Camaro sports black pleated vinyl bucket seats with a matching rear bench, dashboard, door panels, headliner, and carpeting. A center console features wood accent trim and houses a chrome shifter with a chrome shift knob.
An original steering wheel with wood veneer fronts an 8,000 rpm tachometer and 120 mph speedometer together with console-mounted gauges to monitor fuel level, voltage, oil pressure, and coolant temperature. The odometer reads 59,428 miles, though true mileage is unknown. The trunk has been refurbished and contains an original spare tire and jack assembly.
The matching-numbers 302ci V8 engine is original to the car, as is the M21 Muncie 4-speed manual which puts power down through the original 12-bolt 4.10 rear-end with posi-traction. The Norwood engine code is shown, and several photos display the factory stampings throughout this Z/28’s mechanicals, including a picture of the engine block stamping.
The underside was fully restored with factory correct markings, and tags added. Additional photos of the undercarriage can be seen in the gallery.
This Z/28 includes significant documentation, including the aforementioned Certificates of Authenticity, original Protecto-Plate, and Warranty/Owner Protection Plate Folder.
Thank you for the interest in the Z/28 and the bids to date. With the car ending in just over an hour, we will be available to answer any questions and have lowered the reserve with the hope that this totally restored Camaro, fully documented by Jerry MacNiesh / Nickey Chevrolet, will find a new caregiver. Good luck to all of the bidders!
