1957 Cadillac Series 62 Coupe deVille

OVERVIEW

This 1957 Cadillac Series 62 Coupe deVille went through an inside-and-out restoration under prior ownership and has accrued about 4,000 miles during garage-kept ownership by the seller over the last 20 years. Power comes from a 365cid V8 mated to a rebuilt four-speed automatic transmission. Features include power steering, power brakes, a radio, and Dayton whitewall tires. Finished in two-tone Dusty Rose Metallic and Mountain Laurel over a Mountain Laurel leather and black cloth interior, this deVille is now offered with Alberta, Canada registration.

EXTERIOR – FEATURES

The two-tone exterior was restored under prior ownership with a Dusty Rose Metallic (code 48) body and a Mountain Laurel (code 46) top. Features include a driver-side mirror, a power antenna, chrome brightwork, rocker moldings, tailfins, and rear bumper-exit exhaust outlets. The body is said to be straight and rust-free throughout, although the seller notes some specific imperfections, which are shown in the gallery to the right.

EXTERIOR – WHEELS AND TIRES

Steel 15-inch wheels with full polished hubcaps are wrapped in 235/75 Dayton Thorobred whitewall tires.

INTERIOR – FEATURES

The interior is fitted with two-tone Mountain Laurel leather and black cloth bench seating; matching colors are found across the padded dash, door panels, headliner, carpeting, and floor mats. Features include a radio, a clock, a power front seat, power steering, power windows, dome lighting, and a Firestone bias-ply spare tire housed in the trunk. The seller notes a crack on the steering wheel.

INTERIOR – GAUGES

Instrumentation includes a sweeping 120-mph speedometer flanked by gauges for the fuel level, coolant temperature, and warning lamps for other systems. The five-digit mechanical odometer reads about 18,500 miles, although the actual mileage on the chassis is not known.

ENGINE AND TRANSMISSION

The 365cid V8 is believed to have been rebuilt prior to the seller’s ownership and is said to be running well, although it requires some pumps of the gas pedal to start after extended storage. Oil changes have been performed annually per the seller. Power is transferred to the rear wheels via a column-shifted four-speed automatic transmission that was rebuilt in 2022.
