OVERVIEW
This 1956 MG MGA 1500 roadster is powered by a 1,489cc inline four-cylinder engine connected to rebuilt dual carburetors and backed by a four-speed manual transmission. Features include a luggage rack, knock-off wire wheels, a rebuilt rear suspension, manual steering, and manual brakes. Finished in Orient Red and equipped with a new black vinyl Robbins top over an off-white leather interior, this MG comes with a clear title.
EXTERIOR – FEATURES
In 2002, the body was stripped to bare metal and refinished in Orient Red. Features include chrome bumpers, a chrome grille, a chrome windshield frame with wind wings, a new Robbins manually folding black vinyl convertible top installed in September 2023, and a chrome luggage rack. The seller states that the car was wet-sanded, polished, and touched up in 2023.
EXTERIOR - WHEELS AND TIRES
A set of silver 15-inch knock-off wire wheels is wrapped in 165/80 radial tires that were installed in 2021.
INTERIOR – FEATURES
The bucket seats, center armrest, and door panels are upholstered in off-white leather. Features include black carpeting, a floor-mounted manual transmission shifter, a red dashboard with a beige top pad, and manual steering.
INTERIOR – GAUGES
A 120-mph speedometer, a 7,000-rpm tachometer, and gauges for the fuel level and coolant temperature are located ahead of the driver. The odometer reads 14,206 miles, but the true mileage on this vehicle is unknown.
ENGINE AND TRANSMISSION
Power is provided by a 1,489cc inline four-cylinder engine and backed by a four-speed manual transmission. The seller states in February of 2022, a new throttle shaft, fuel pump, coil, condenser, points set, and spark plugs were installed. An oil change and a gearbox fluid change were completed and the carburetors were rebuilt at the same time.
UNDERCARRIAGE
This MG was factory-equipped with an independent front suspension and a solid rear drive axle. Braking is provided by manual four-wheel drums. A single exhaust outlet exits at the rear. In February 2022, the rear suspension was rebuilt, the rear axle was serviced, and new U-joints and a new pinion seal were installed.
